I'm not sure, but I suspect Scott was worried about Bruhn running out the game and that's why Parfitt was on the bench/sub, I think the likely play barring injuries was he may have been subbed out anyway. Injuries obviously took hold but Bruhn looked really good early. Crisp early in the second half was standing him which is a sign of just how much respect Macrae had for Bruhn.
That was the game to be on Daicos in hindsight, if anyone had any questions about how good the kid is, he answered them. He'll get more attention, strange Scott let him run free late in the game, he's nearly in every scoring chain.

I was staggered he received zero attention all game, expected an adjustment at 1/2 time but no.

Can’t see other teams letting him run so free

Not unhappy with Ratugolea’s 56 on field tonight. Looked ok and should hold his place especially with Stewart out. On field rookie scores will be horrible this year I think with apparent lower quality, lower JS and the sub rule.
The year i came 7th overall Zac Merrett got knocked out against Adelaide in the 2nd game of the year and scored 17. Need to remind myself its a long year but it's a tough pill to swallow

All my Stewart friends, and I’m sure there are many, if like myself you don’t have Daicos, we can get on board with a handy 100k in the pocket next round. Those who don’t have either won’t be able to do that so let’s take the small win!

Would have been nice for Tom to go and injure himself in the last instead of the first though.. 😏

2 great games to start year

Next up tomorrow morning, the absolute blockbuster ….

North v WCE

Strap yourselves in boys 😜
In all seriousness I wouldn't at all be surprised to see that become a tightly fought and watchable contest as well. The quality of tonight's football was better than last night's, but I don't think that mattered really as both games were enjoyable to watch, at least (for tonight's game) until Geelong finally succumbed to the carnage on their bench anyway after which it died out a bit even as a Collingwood supporter who was happy to get the 4 points.

It's also a bit like you were alluding to with Flanders. Once the real stuff starts and the intensity rises, these guys get shown up more often than not.
