Is it too reactionary to be looking at Bobby Hill as a potential correction trade? Looked to my eye to be getting up the ground a lot more than he used to at GWS - maybe finally has a tank? Only 30k more than Sheezel, established at the level and in a much better side...
Never reactionary to be looking at someone as a potential trade. Going aheaad with it though can be a different story

For mine, Bobby's body of work is more miss than hit. He'd be a long shot to make it into my squad

North Melb.
Cunnington been my biggest head scratcher. Don’t love the naming of Greenwood, and the fact he’s starting on the IC. Any North supporters have any insight into his viability as a pick?
Great servant of the club, but Clarko is obviously looking to bring on the kids, as seen by Goldy being left out.
Had him in for a while, but think he's probably fully priced so took him out again.
Also don't like picking players over 30 unless they're ruckmen.

Despite some of Rat's gaffes last night, he's a strong presence on the field. I think I should consider squeezing him on the bench, Geelong needs fresh legs like his, so he should generate some coin. How are you guys feeling about him? Not impressed?
Didn't see the game last night due to work, but read the comments re free kicks against etc. Can see the upside, but don't trust Scott.

Anyone else gone gun shy on their mid-pricers coming into the weekend?

I've zigged and zagged and left a Nick Daicos sized gap in my team for next week or in R3 when I likely turf one of them out :p
Yep, there is nothing I can do about the two I already have, but the rest will be guns and rookies, (Inc Callaghan as expensive rookie).

Looks good. At that price, not sure he's going to be a must trade in. Probably will be a bit more of a luxury for teams with the cash to upgrade a forward rookie, or even some teams looking to downgrade a Bruhn/Flanders/Hopper type.

I bailed on him as I wanted to spend his ~70K for my Round 1 team in the end. He will put up a nice 85+ game at some stage to get the cash generation going. Unless it's next week, I think it'll be hard to prioritise him.

If mid price is 250-500k I’ve gone:

2/0/6
4/2/5
2/0/1
3/1/2

Still feels like more than I’d usually have. Fwd mid price is Darcy Cameron too so potential could be a keeper rather than a stepping stone. Great swing with no Rat either to have Ruck cover switching with Madden.

Bit of a slow start for our midpricers. Hopper's general meh-ness and Bruhn's fade out were a bit concerning. But it was round one so a) the score is in the rotation for 1 round and b) you can't judge a season on round 1 (those mortgaging the house for Daios/Rioli take note)

Just remember that we spent 332k on Hopper and 311k on Bruhn for a total of 643k. For our troubles we received 125 points. It's far from a disaster.

Our option, in isolation, was a 123k rookie maybe and a 520k 'premium'. On field. Now the 520 k premium wouldn't have averaged 100 last year, judging by his price so assume that again and that leaves as little as 50 or so for the 123k rookie. Not ideal. Not worth getting too worked up over.

What we got out of these 2 midpricers was just a bog standard result. Yes, we want more so that they can get their cash generation moving but they have a week up their sleeve to sort that out. Plenty worse things will happen this year. Just ask Stewart holders

Yes Daicos was everywhere last night but blowing up your team to get him in surely isn't the wisest thing to do? The 130 is gone...

Almost a no brainer for the unlucky Stewart owners to go down to him and bank the cash. Surely teams wont let him run around the park doing what he wants in the coming weeks...
Absolutely and it only affects 1 price change. Happy to watch him next week vs Port before breaking the bank.
And if you said that to people last season when Sicily and Sinclair went bang and people continued to fade them I'd be pissed. There are players I agree that would be first round wonders that nobody ever considered and I'd agree, but there's also a time to jump on value when it presents. I agree don't tear teams apart but I'm also pretty confident that most if not all of us will have players that aren't as good as a selection as we may have thought so I don't mind an early trade or 9.

I can turn Hopper and Bruhn into let's say Daicos and a rookie. If I do that I'd have 14 'keepers'. If I said I was starting Round 1 with 14 keepers almost everyone would have considered me a lunatic - and rightfully so. Sometimes the rub of the green is just against you.

Great comments... the other thing to remember is that the available rookie pool looks pretty shalllow, so it’s not as if there are a lot of better alternatives at the lower price levels.
