I think unless Simpson chooses to leave there is close to zero chance of him not being the coach at the end of the season. From 2014 when he took over last year was the first time the team finished worse than 9th. They have played finals 6 times out of 9, made 2 grand finals and won one of them. Yes last year was horrible due to injuries, covid and other issues but we are in rebuild mode. IMO unless he completely loses the player group we would need to finish bottom 2 or 3 this year and next year before we get to the point of having that discussion.

I know it goes against logic a bit, but I'm considering bringing in Sicily for Stewart. Is this nuts. It was a 10 goal loss and he still scored 110 odd. Will better teams than Essendon see his scoring rise? Might have to look at their draw.

I've looked at two options so far, with a POD option as well :
1. Stewart; Jones > Daicos; JHF (mid via DPP)
2. Stewart; Jones > Sicily; Callaghan (mid via DPP).

3. Stewart; Jones > POD def; Cogs etc?

So many "maybes" in def. Think it might be the best place to go wait to see the lay of the land.

Sicily and Callaghan in looks fine to me.

I think ideally we have another weeks look at JHF to ensure the role is real with Boak back.

Cogs would also be a priority for mine, but I suspect your FWD line is in better shape than your DEF, so wouldn’t be hesitating on bringing in Sicily.
