I Watch the Crows game again and believe Crows will run different structures around stoppages. Forget CBA laird will still have a high count. If Laird goes under 100pts this week will hemerage cash which i dont want this early in the year. I am miles behind the leaders and need to make some calculated changes without upsetting struture. Thinking LDU looks stronger and faster on his feet this year and allows #35 to move into D3

Fyfe was a player i really didnt want, originally had Bruhn but got doubts when Parfitt named on the bench. JHF was considered but went with Fyfe due to ownership. Fyfe Sheezel this week.

#35 is that good and plays for the PIES and i want himm in my team. Watching the game live ii did think he had a 150pt game.

This year i trading hard ealry, watch the cows fatten round 3 to 7 then trade hard again leading up to the bye rounds then burn the 3 remaining boosts.

Good Luck
If Laird goes under 100 this week, we can all trade him next week and not lose cash anyway - so I don't really see much benefit going early on a captain candidate.

LDU looks great, but he is yet to prove he can do a full season of premium midfield scoring consistently. He really struggled against the Dogs in the preseason for instance.

If you're set on going early on Daicos, I'd even consider
Fyfe > Sheezel
Hopper > Phillips
Jones > Daicos

before going early on Laird.

Does SPP have the engine to keep up with #35.?
Possibly not, but he always gives his all through to the end of every game, and if there is anyone in Port's team with the physical presence to put someone off their game, it's him. Personally, I'd share the responsibility around a bit based on field position, like using Duursma and Bergman off the wings, but who can know what avenue Ken will choose. Port have been pretty guarded about who will give the attention and the level of such.

Well it could be Laird to JHF next week if required and then you will have a boatload of cash to get the other must-haves.
Leaves Ascroft at M5.....makes me nervious, can swing some loops, will wait for team lists tonight.

Hmmmmm

Looking at going Kelly > Cogs, not sure on anything else yet till teams drop. Cogs looks a top 6 fwd for sure, role was perfect on Sunday & looks set for a big year - Kelly's role was great (ball use surprisingly wasn't in the first half) but I do worry about the long term effects of his concussion/ giants have a great early draw so getting his teammate really appeals. Getting Cogs essentially sets my fwd line up long term (possibly 5 fwd premiums if Gulden continues on his trajectory + the best fwd rookie who can be fielded with his half back role) along with my rucks so can focus my trading on the mids & defence (expect for any injuries).

Current team :-

Prefer to give Bruhn another week, I have real concerns especially with Bowes now in the team. If he fails to fire then a flip to Worpel next week (same price almost) & moving Cogs into the fwd line is on the cards.

Jones is just a wait & see - Have a look at Cowan's score tonight, then see if Jones is playing. If he doesn't & Cowan scores poorly then I might have to sideways him to Tom Cole.

Flanders is another big watch, junked hard to get 64 - certainly a trade option next week if another low score.

Open to suggestions (y)
I've got a very similar team with 28/30 same selections.

My thinking is the same with Jones, another option could be to go up to Daicos if Jones doesn't play and Cowan puts in a poor score, but I'm leaning towards holding. Don't know if a sideways trade to Cole is a great move, he's probably about a 55-60 avg and don't see that being worth the use of a trade.

Agree with giving Bruhn another week, Bowes is a better kick than Bruhn so I'm hope they use him more outside and down back, whilst also having Blicavs relief down back, opening the door for Bruhn in the CBAs, but we'll wait and see. If it doesn't work out this way you can bring in Worpel who has a high CBA role.

Really like the Cogs move, great role, going to be a FWD keeper + soft fixture.

I think Flanders is someone you could move on this week if he's just going to be on your bench, potentially up to a MP you like? But fine to give another week.

Will give him another week to see if he’s worth buying but anyone else thinking of fielding Philips at m8 in the future now he’s shown that 65 on the weekend? Or still too much risk of the sub? I’m shattered he went so well after having him all pre season and moving over to Hollands
If he’s named in the 22 I will likely field him. Got 32% CBAs in only 53% TOG, which indicates a pretty good role. I removed him last Thursday night but put him back in when I saw that he was the sub. He’s a better and more developed prospect than a lot of those he’s competing with for a spot in our sides in my view.

I’ve used a boost, and am prepared to next week as well if required.

Gone with :

Stewart
Ash
Chesser

for

McKenna
Coniglio
Horne Francis

Keeping Jelly and Jones. If Jones plays this week he will score well vs saints, look at the field day Cox and Ryan had last week. Could be the spike everyone is after.

Slaone Rocelle Keays all ran through MID at times. Different stye of play from the Crows in RD1. Rory will hemerage cash if below 100pts this week. RD2 you need to best Rookies. At this time i am only missing Sheezel. BYe Fyfe

Rory can blame the heat if he wants to, but it was the same for every one else. It will be a big call to FLIP trade to LDU this early.?
FWIW Keays only rotated into the middle once other mids were cramping up later in the game from what I noticed, and Sloane mainly lined up on the wings.

IMO it was actually the Tom Green matchup that he struggled with - reduced Laird's ability to lay an effective tackle (only two, lowest in years) against such a big body and also his ability to get hands to it. When there was an Adelaide clearance, it was most frequently Rachele getting it and bursting away without other involvements.

Reminder for those required to make the Stewart trade tonight, you can use the "Trade Update" feature to move the selected player to another player (assuming neither have played) without incurring a further trade. From the SC site:
  • Trade Update allows you to update and manage your trades right through and during each round. While you can continue to reverse all changes throughout the week and right up to the first match of the round, you now have all the flexibility to update trades right through the rolling lockout. Here's how it works:
  • If, for example, you completed a trade on the Friday evening and traded in a player who doesn't play until Sunday afternoon and is a late out - or you've simply changed your mind - you can simply 'update' the traded-in player to another one (who is yet to play, and within your available salary).
  • The above will work even if the player you originally traded out has already been locked. With the end result being one net change to your team, it's all at the cost of a single trade.
  • Trade Update means that here is no need to navigate complex trade reversals that would rarely work due to traded players or dual trade/dual position moves being involved/locked. If, however, neither of your traded in/out players are locked and you are able to complete a trade in reverse, you will receive your trade back and effectively reverse your trade (with the net result being no change to your team).
Also, in reading the FAQs, I've also just noticed that we only have 5 boost trades. I'll confess I had been assuming (incorrectly) that with 36 trades this year, the extra was a boost (ie 30 + 6) but it's actually 31 + 5. Probably just my pea sized brain but worth noting if you had also been making that assumption (particularly given we're looking at using boosts in the early rounds for correction purposes)

Supercoach trying to make things confusing if you play AFL & BBL.
In AFL, the Boost is part of your 36 trades (as you mentioned).
In BBL the Boost was in addition to your 3 trades/round (so you had an extra 3 trades for the comp) o_O

OK Keeping Laird....... i think.....maybe.....dont know yet.

What about the trades

Hopper - Callaghan (M5)
Fyfe - Sheezel (F5)
Stocker - #35 (D3)

43K in the bank.
Fyfe to Sheezel I can see the logic. The other two I cannot. Stocker out seems a waste. I’d wait a week, get another look at Fyfe, Hopper and Callaghan. Then maybe look at your options.

That is a bit baffling isn't it?....maybe a different team of people from SC watching the games and adding up the points?
Those stats look like those 2 scores should be reverse, 91 for last week's game and 60 for last year's round 23 game.
The nature of Supercoach scoring means one cannot compare two completely different games and expect to get an accurate read on player performance.

I get this, and I'm in a similar situation but at the same time next week could be a disaster if I don't do anything this week. It's a fine line
