No you said their season was stuffed.
Then followed it up with "100% this seasons winner won't have done that."
Then put out there, that the winner has to have a near perfect season. No one has ever gone close to the perfect season. Not even close!!!
Then buttered it up with that you'll run around the MCG yelling "I'm a spanner" if the winner did do it.
Had you not done any of those things, we would not be having this conversation.
I repeat. You risk sucking the fun out of peoples season, by basically telling them their season is over, after only 10 games!!!!
I retracted that their season was stuffed but I stand by the call that they can't win it.

NT was rubbing salt into a wound that was unnessessary imo. Anyway , I take your points and I'll move on from the subject.
It’s been a tough start for many of us, myself included.

Those that went Stewart > Doch would be feeling very frustrated I completely understand.

I am frustrated but more annoyed at myself for taking Bruhn despite my reservations… but no point dwelling on it, time to move on & make a plan going fwd. It’s impossible to pick a perfect starting side & things happen that you can’t expect - just have to roll with the punches & be fluid with your trading process.

If you have had a poor start like myself, set yourself some short, medium & long term goals, see the position you are in as a challenge.

My ranking is 45,050 currently, I still believe I will finish in the top 1000 which is always my first goal.

Long way to go, this game can be a real roller coaster. Keep your chin up & keep on trucking, things will turn around - just need to be patient 👍

Ultimately, we have NO control over how well players score, we can have informed calls on form and previous games, but it’s all speculation. Sometimes it’s the way the cookie crumbles. For eg. I finished in top1000 in 2020, frequent this forum consistently and after 1 game, I’m 72,000ish overall.. due to C on Laird (we can’t control the weather) Stewart going down (we can’t control the way his knee reacts to the surface). All we can do is make choices we think could work.

For eg. After 1 round I’m nowhere near saying season over.. I’m asking myself “do I have the best rookies?” One week at a time..

Plus at this point in the season, anything is possible. It’s not insurmountable at all. Best of luck for everyone for Rd2!

Ok, if this years winner has done that, I'll run around the MCG naked yelling ,'I'm a spanner'
Tagging this just in case.

As mentioned by others in later posts, it's probable that the winner won't have done this trade, but I am guessing it's still more likely than you following up on this if the winner has done it.

Something as simple as a left field captain choice who scores 200+ can easily make up for a few bad early choices. Dont give up yet.
Yes after RD 2 those of us with 30,000 plus rannking should consider some unpopular VC options and hope they go Large.. All this talk about winning the SC Competition is a bit like a dog chasing its tail. I know going into the start of the season, i have next to no chance of winning, my goal for this year is to try to get into the top 2000, at years end, and win the H2H match ups. Plus its fun talking footy.....

Another Good Match Up for Friday NIght ....should be enjoyable to watch.

Good Luck Coaches.....

We have 4 or 5 previous winners on this site.
I'm 110% sure, each and everyone of them, will tell you of more than 2 or 3 wasted trades (when we had less trades!!!)
They will also tell you of countless lost points, to injured Prems, under performing Prems, and poor C choices.
To say that you cannot win, because you used a trade, and your D1 scored a total of 91 over the course of the first 2 Rounds is just ridiculous!!!!!
We could say it's harmless hyperbole ......... but it's not. What you are doing, is telling people that don't know better, and believe what you are writing, is that their season is over, after only 10 games!!!!!
It is patently wrong, and has the potential to suck the fun out of the season, for those silly enough to believe you!!!!
Agree with you 100%

If you traded in Docherty for Stewart and Docherty averages 115 for the rest of the year (even with the score of 73) then it’s not an error but a great trade.

To illustrate this, if Docherty scores 73, 120, 120, 120, it is the same as 120, 120, 120, 73

Naturally, it sucks when you traded in Docherty 73 after a Stewart injury.

However, if Docherty is a premium keeper then it makes no difference the order of his scores unless the drop in score allows others to get Docherty at a lower price which doesn’t appear to be the case here as there would not be enough cash generated yet to take advantage of this.

FWIW I have both Stewart and Docherty in my starting team 😂🤣 and yes it’s annoying 😂😂

Having/had Docherty/Stewart is not fun but it’s Friday everyone which is always a great day.

Was hoping for one usable bench score from Hollands/Rat/Cowan and young Oliver delivered! With his work rate and composure, the more games that are close in the final quarter the better.

Bytel gets to stay to take the 71.
Jelly to Gawn or English so I don't have to field one of Rat/Greene at F6.

So what are people's thoughts on Bowes?

52 points in the first quarter, but then faded out a bit and only scored another 56 for the rest of the match.
He played well, but I doubt we see such a good ratio for him each week. Ended up on 77 AF and 108 SC. This was mainly because he went at 80% DE plus had more contested possessions than uncontested. I doubt he is able to maintain that sort of ratio and expect him to fail to average enough to be a keeper.

However, if picking him as a stepping stone to a keeper then there’s certainly merit in that as he has the potential of making 150k in a similar sort of time period as a rookie priced player whilst likely providing much better on field scores than a rookie priced player.
