The problem as I see it with Worpel is role.

I guess it depends how do you feel about him?

I think Hopper is probably a better option, but depends on how you feel about Worpel going forward.
I don't understand all this hate for Worpel's role - are people just looking for excuses to trade him?

He has been the 1st mid, 3rd mid & 3rd mid for Hawthorn CBAs so far this season - so he is still sitting inside their first choice midfield group each week. It's a good role for a guy that started at 309K.

All it takes is one average return and the fingers start looking for the trade button.

Laird & Coniglio score under 60: "It's fine, they're elite mids that just had an off game - they will bounce back"

Worpel scores under 60: "TRADE TRADE TRADE - HE'S GONE FROM 1ST TO 3RD IN THE CBAS!!!!"
Actually there's a surprising number of people trading Laird and Cogs :ROFLMAO:

Also, I think with Worpel, people aren't so much concerned with his drop in CBAs but more that when playing forward he was in the goalsquare and not pushing up to the contest.

2 unforced trades this week. This is un Professor like, but, I'm on the lookout to improve my team and onfield points.

Out - Pedlar 1 game suspension, Gulden
In - Caminiti cash gen and Oliver.

I don't like chasing points, nor trading out uninjured players. Gulden to Oliver gives me 25 points plus per week and will be a top 5 mid. I may get Gulden back later in the season in my forwards. Pedlar missing 1 game provides the downgrade to get Oliver and ride the cash that Caminiti brings.
Seems like a waste of two trades.

Gulden: You'd have to be absolutely certain that he won't be anywhere near the top 6 forwards, and this is the time to jump off.

Pedlar: One week. Still has money to make. If there were a must have rookie I could understand it, but Caminiti isn't it; and he only injects $50k.

Oliver: Buying at peak price is almost never a good idea. Sure, has a good run and could beat us up, but has been rather modest in his scoring against us in the past.

Ended up grabbing Bowes for Constable when he was named out... not sure it was the right move. Bit strapped for cash now and have to get rid of Cameron... no clue what to do. View attachment 55130
I see 12 keepers there….with the luxury of Dunkley in the mids could you swing him forward and go Cameron to LDU?
would need to make a downgrade to a rookie to have the cash but would be well worth it….

other than that you have strong depth on the field and bench …

I watched Swans v Hawks & Hawks v North and did not see him play out of the goal square at all.

It seemed to just be a classic half forward role when he wasn't at the stoppages.

Swans v Hawks, were we watching the same game?
His role seemed fine in round 2 when he went forward, the goalsquare antics seemed to start this week.

Congratulations on such a brilliant start to the year!
great squad… I don’t think you need to change too much …Oliver stands out as the missing link for you..

my two trades would be:

Worpel to Buckley ( via Ginbey)

Bont up to Oliver….

The additional 20-30 points per week you gain will hold you in good stead…
Buckley averaging 91 and has a low breakeven so will grow cash at a faster rate than Worpel at present

Ed Richards may be a better option, @$470k comes up against Richmond, Port, Freo, Hawks and them Giants.
Looks a fair run for him to makes some coin and score points?
Nah that’s not worth it. Too sideways surely.
I also have Young. In the bits of freo games I’ve seen he’s looked ok to the eye so far, but likes to position in the defensive side of the centre square corridor when ball coming out. Unless they use the corridor he gets bypassed every time. I don’t like it. But he’s not going that bad that you’d sideways him.

I think it’s justifiable to trade him to one of those 600k guys though, if you have the cash. I can’t find that cash without a bit of butchering unfortunately so he’s a hold for me.
