I watched the tournament, it was a classic meltdown, I've seen many of them over the years, Phil Mickelson at the Masters, Jordan Speith, Jean Van De Velde at the Open. Guys get nervous, lose confidence, inexplicably lose their swing..... that's why I don't bet on Golf.
Strangely it's the exact reason I love a bet on golf

spieth in full melt down.
What a good start he had though, 5 birdies 1 bogey after the first 9, then a bogey and double before bouncing back with a couple more birdies, overall not too bad at -3. Wish I'd filled his spot with Hovland now though, instead of taking Hovland out for Koepka.

I've had a few of those....mostly when I've played good golf for 4 holes, stand on the fifth tee and can't work out how to even swing the club!!!

Stuck to my "never again" for Speith. Played it pretty much straight down the line. Now wondering whether Rory bounces back, or whether toive him off field early..

I won't advise you either way mate but it seems every time I drag a guy after a bad round they inevitably bounce back with a 5 under when the guy you brought on gets a 3 or 4 over lol. I'm happy to have passed on Rory, plenty of other great choices available without the rollercoaster ride.

That's pretty much where I'm at. The 10 footer on the last might have been the impetus...

I struggled more this tournament than most in picking a squad, I considered a lot of those in the top 10, but landed on a few who were just average instead. Plenty of time for things to change.

Nice job @Russty_ on nailing two of the first round leaders, looking like this will be the tournament where I finally lose the lead with the amount of Cup points on offer. I was just happy to be in front for over half the season, especially as I don't follow it anywhere near as closely as most others.

There is lots of interest in the golf as you can see this week, it is a pity we could only manage four regulars in the fantasy comp. It's not a bad format, and if you set a weekly alarm for Wednesday nights, you shouldn't miss any tournaments.

That Double on 13. Arhhh.
Serves him right for attacking from the pine straw.

Still in it.

Good to see the 3 Aussie in Top 20

Cheers Hawk, long way to go yet, could be meltdowns on the way who knows? lol I haven't been following any of that LIV Golf so have no idea how Koepka and Smith have been going but happy they had a decent start, yeah hopefully we get a few more joining the League next season. You can actually pick your players virtually as soon as the last tournament is over now, just by clicking on the callendar icon.
I think you'll still be in front after this one, that's a lot of points to make up. It's a shame Frosty and Vicwood missed a couple of tournaments otherwise it'd be dead close at the top now. Maybe we should skip one and let em catch up a bit? ;) Rahm is unbelievable, started with a double bogey and still ended up with that score, did you hear Kevin Na shot 4 over on the front 9 and then withdrew citing an "illness", sounds a bit weak to me, someone else could've had that spot in a very hard field to get into.

We've all been there Frosty!, paralysis by analysis lol, my days of overthinking it are over now, I just grip it and rip it these days, come what may :)

Wow, never seen that before watching a tournament, thankfully no one was hurt, three trees fell at once, one snapped in half and two others uprooted with strong wind gusts.
Huge advantage to the players in the first 2 rounds who managed to finish and post decent scores while the weather was mild.
It's gonna be hard for the others in the last 2 rounds.
