What are peoples thoughts around Chandler, Long and Phillips if named? I'll be bringing in 1 and don't mind that the first 2 have had a price range but curious to know how others would rate them.

Chandler has been scoring well, is in a good team but competition for spots will continue. Long looks pretty good and should continue to get a run of games, just whether his role supports scoring and Phillips, good role when gettings CBA's but seems to be that fringe onballer and with Simpkin and LDU back might see more sub time.
Depends whether you want to field them or not, imo. I would probably only trust Chandler of the three on field (assuming your M8 is like, Mackenzie or better).

Yeah, looking at fielding F6 so Chandler is the one I’m liking.

Not a fan of getting a rookie after a price increase especially a big one, but it can still work. If Phillips is named think he is a good bet as will always be around the best 22, but yeah sub risk.

Can you wait a week as some good players coming through?

I can field JVR at F6 or Baker/Phillips at M8

Thinking JVR v WCE might be more sensible
Baker for mine after his performance last week scoring 95/ played a great game. Playing on a wing v tigers/should score well, young key fwds are so volatile with their scoring historically.

Not really if I'm moving Darcy Cameron to English/Witts. Was looking at moving Callaghan, only option really to free up some cash to get a decent ruck.

Otherwise I'm looking at a straight swap to a Nankervis, Grundy, Darcy or Flynn type $562,500 to spend on a ruck. I'm tired of chasing my ruck tail after three rounds and was hoping I could get a season out of English or Witts.

95 is anomalous from Baker. He had 8 inside 50s and gained 611 metres, well above his career averages (and 95 was his best ever SC score, a full 32% better than his previous best of 72).

If he was coming off a 52 (which was his career average before the Brisbane game) surely that would tip the balance in favour of the volatile young key forward?

I'd agree with how you summed them up.

Chandler - missed his price rise but will probably bring him in this week.
Long - already in my team, even did a stint on field to cover for the late LDU out.
Phillips - was in my Rd1 team until he wasn't named. As you say, looks to be fringe and will likely need a LTI from another mid to get a good run.

Now that Phillips has been named along with LDU & Simpkin, he has jumped up in my consideration.

Goater dropped, over him anyway and don't want to carry both him and Chesser but the only option seems to be Tyler Young. Worth picking him up, or am I just getting another player who'll be dropped in a week or two?

I don't know if Young has a good role for SC scoring, but I have read that Broad and Gibcus expected back in a few weeks, which could force him off the Team. Doesn't look like it is worth trading him in if he will not make enough money and he doesn't seem to be scoring well enough to field.

Baker showed in the preseason that he can score well in that wing role. New club, more opportunity. His past scoring at Melbourne is not as relevant. I'll be sticking the E on him and will bench MacKenzie for Constable if he goes well

No such luck, Constable in the backs looping Wilmot and Cowan.

For me it's Baker v JVR v Phillips v Phillipou

What are peoples thoughts on Rowston? Named in the centre for weekends game and attended a few CBA last round. Job security? If I get him in instead of Long I can do Callaghan to Dawson. The problem is I think Long has better JS and handy as C/F but if I take him the best defender I can get in for Callaghan is Luke Ryan who can be inconsistent with his scoring? Comes down to Dawson or Luke Ryan?
