Had Doc and Nank to deal with this week so I've moved them out, they're currently represented by Stewart and Darcy. That's option 1, and probably the only one that doesn't see me using a (third!) boost this week.

Option 2 is to go English and a DEF cash cow - but Michalanney is locked out which really only leaves T Young. Not really a fan of this option. (I need a defender, no D/M swing right now - that will change next round.)

Then after that we're looking at boosts. The most reasonable out looks to be Callaghan, and him to JVR gets me both Stewart and English. If I weren't already down two boosts this would feel like a no brainer, but I can't escape the thought that this is going to bite me later.

Am I basically on the right track here?
Option 1 for me.

Out: Docherty, Hurn, Allen
In: Dawson, Oliver, JVR
30k ITB

Ended up yolo-ing after hearing the Hurn news. Seeing him rested so early into the season does not fill me with any confidence it won't happen again so took the opportunity to close off the two biggest POD's. Probably a waste of a trade or two (and a boost) but think having them will make SC a bit more enjoyable, if not anything else :)

Kinda hoping Hopper scores a 70 so i can trade him to Laird next week with a clear conscience.

Wondering who you guys would field at F6 this week out of the following:

Samson Ryan - listed as ruck in replacment of Nank, but most likely playing key FWD role against Swans
Fergus Greene - against GWS, managed to kick 2 goals against the Cats last week and scored 73.
JVR - against ESS, didn't perform as well as we'd hope against the Eagles last week. Ben Brown returning almost certainly impacting his output

What is your expectation in terms of average and total points for Darcy between now and the rest of the season compared to English?

Callaghan’s cash growth has slowed with the 37 in price cycle and then set to exit this round and if he was a starting selection then you should be able to free up $140,000 for Van Rooyen whilst getting similar production from a bench rookie moved onfield. Given there does not look to be any holes that need fixing and a nice rookie batch, then I would proceed with using a boost if you do not intend on making any moves in the next few rounds.

As a Round 1 owner of Bailey Dale who traded him out after Round 2 as he (and the Dogs) looked awful, I've got no issue with you bringing him in this round as he now looks great in the role he has and is accumulating the possessions I thought he would from day dot.
Interesting. Do you think he's going to be competitive with Stewart from here on in. I was thinking of bringing in Stewart this round but he could still lose some money over the next couple of rounds and is 30 as opposed to Dale at 26 who also hasn't missed any games in the last couple of years(?).
Dale might be a nice POD whose also 40 grand cheaper than Stewart with a nice upward scoring trend and a pleasing last round 136 sitting there , piqued my interest you have.

Dimma has been quoted saying they think his future is as a key fwd yeah.

Dimma's team sheets have been a load of **** for a decade now, wouldn't read into that.

Doesn't really matter where he ends up spending his time after this week, May and Lever won't make it easy for him, Ballard and Collins no pushovers either, add that to the Tigs just being a bit cactus in general.
Think you've convinced me to avoid Ryan. If he's only going to be playing key forward then probably not worth it. His stamina looks terrible too and can't really run out games just yet so always a risk of being subbed out again and ruining his cash generation.

Help me out guys. Have traded Doch out:

1.Dale, or other single trade under 551k

2. Stewart and a rookie trade to free up cash. I just can't see where the rookie trade comes from. I'd like Stewart, (as I would have liked Dawson last night), but nothing feels right. Maybe Menzie > JVR

Anyone see anything worth doing? Could also use a boost. Thanks for any feedback.
I've personally traded Davey out to fund Stewart.

Davey still has cash to make but a little concerned he might come back into the team as the sub. We're pretty well stocked for small forwards and Davey may not come straight back into the 22 if Snelling does his job this week.

Will be going Davey > EVR

Plan is to go Liam Jones > Dawson next week ( :cautious: ) so will need every $$$ I can find ASAP.

Haven't done the exact maths but should be able to get there with Jones/Baker/Mackenzie to Dawson/Williams/3rd rookie {Roberts/Johnson etc)

Otherwise Hopper/Setterfield would also be expendable depending on scores.

I’m interested to hear why some coaches aren’t keen on JVR this round.

$124k rookie on the bubble averaging 70 who will very likely play the required 6-7 games this season in order to make enough cash.

Will he play all 6-7 matches in a row? Possibly not, but does that really matter?

Surely he’s not being fielded every week so is it that big an issue if he possibly misses games throughout the season?
Who do I trade for him out of: Setters, JHF, Hopper, Ashcroft, Mackenzie, Baker, Phillips, Chandler, Pickett or Pou? They all have potentially 10s of thousands left in them, reducing the value of what JVR is offering if I trade prior to them topping out. A week later and sure, maybe Baker as he will probably have topped out. I'd also have one of the North guys going back, making my back rookies tradable. (Can't get at them for a forward at the moment.) If I trade one of the MPs, I'm bringing a rookie on field - something I'm trying to avoid.

JVR is bad timing for me. A week later, then sure, I'd give it a crack. This week I was more interested in getting Pickett though as he should be fieldable (moving Mackenzie to the bench) and will hopefully get me close to a premo in a month's time.

Thinking Johnson is still available next week in the mids. I'll lose out a bit if he goes up by more than say Baker, but it saves me a boost.

Yeah, I’ve considered that, but Davey is stuck in the mids for me, or I could swing constable into mids and bring in a rookie def.

Who does that leave? Phillips maybe? Unsure there’s any rookie defs?

Can’t really see how it’s not Menzies to JVR.
Liam Jones, no real options.

With dpp changes next week I'm considering something different as my docherty trade. Which originally was docherty to Stewart.

I'm now thinking with the Davey out I can bring in Oliver. That means I need to to trade docherty to one of Wagner and Young and then field them as a D6 or take Cowans score.

I can then trade Davey to Oliver which takes one of Phillips or Mackenzie off field.

Thoughts?

That leads me to Young vs Wagner lol

I don't think that you would be on your own there. Doc > Oliver is a good move IMM

The game is less fun nit having Oliver
Yep, I'm half inclined to use a boost this week and trade Cogs > Oliver.

I've already spent a truckload of trades chasing BE's both with MP's and rookies, a consequence of that is that I really haven't improved my team, it's now time for me to start farming and culling to improve the herd
