Round 6: Anyone else considering 3 down this week? Roberts, Johnson and Williams and create a bank rather than 2 down 1 up or 1 and 1.

Round 7: Apart from Seamus Mitchell none of the other rookies for next week stood out.
I don't think Mitchell stands out particularly either (unless Scrimshaw is out long term) but Wagner is at least semi-interesting if he holds his spot, DEF/MID who had a poor AF/SC ratio (54/39) - probably because he had an average game in general.

I grabbed Johnson last week as was thinking I may want all 3. I don't think it's a disaster only grabbing 2 (or 1) though.

not sure on this, but callum wilkie could be a nice pod.

last three games 104,117,156 and looks good

thoughts?
In all-Australian form at the moment. I have him in a legacy draft league so watch him pretty closely. He's had three good scores and is playing the perfect Sicily type role but can have the odd off games in terms of scoring (as evidenced by Rd 2 v WB) where he has to be more accountable in a traditional KPD defensive role. The Saints are playing a very high possession game (currently ranked no. 1 for kicks (242.6), handballs (173.8) and marks (110) so the scoring opportunities have been there but I doubt 416 disposals per game will be sustainable all year. By way of comparison, the highest average over the whole of 2022 was achieved by Freo and Carl at 383. Interestingly, the Saints possession count hasn't translated to SC points where they are only ranked 6th.

I'm seriously considering a controversial tom green sideways / up / down boost trade!

I really don't know what to think of the bubble boys?

I'm thinking green / ginbey / chandler
To Bont / butters / roberts.

Like the Butters in. Had a post game presser where he said Carr pushed Kenny to get him back in the midfield rotation more heavily. Great Pod pick at 4.4% and could potentially match Green across the season, especially with an extra game. Dunno if its worth a boost though.

Zac's my favourite player! Its now or never. He's back playing mid. Two down and one up would probably be more sensible. I also want Bont now.

Out: R Ginbey, C Mackenzie and W Ashcroft
In: D Williams (via Sheezel), M Roberts (via Ziebell and Phillips) and L Neale

Time to finally run that rookie/cheap fwd line without those impostors in Flanders, Bruhn, Fyfe, etc.
O Baker over W Ashcroft allows Lloyd down back instead of Neale/Miller, with Sheezel to stay forward.

Wagner could be a round 7 option too. Scored poorly but that was due to a few clangers and likely first game at a new club nerves. Could easily turn in a decent score this round with his handy for SC role for Freo. DEF/MID eligibility could be valuable too.

Is Luke Edwards worth any consideration vs the lesser priced rookie options this week?
I'm also interested in people's thoughts. If he was 150k he'd be firmly in my sights, but the raised price gives me pause. Still, 21yo, who has previously had a game with >25 possessions, coming back from OP last year, gets an opportunity to lock himself in an injury riddled side.....there's certainly an argument that could be made that he's a better option than some.

I have been pondering this move but wonder if it is a bit too sideways? Also I would not be surprised if he gets off.
Yes. It was a good tackle.

It's getting to a point when a tackle becomes a hold. You take the opponent to the ground it's a lottery.

But a boot to the ribs (danger) or a knee to the ribs ( cox) nothing.?

I'm thinking of locking in Baker > Johnson and then seeing how Sturt & Wagner go Friday night before deciding whether I need to take both Roberts & Williams as well.

If Sturt & Wagner do poorly, you are basically relying on a good game from Gould or Corey Warner to get a second good bubble option with Mitchell next week.

I am inclined to keep Ginbey. If he continues to play (which they indicated he will, and that taking him off as sub last week was there way of giving him a freshen up), then he is one of the higher scoring rookie we can rely on while we are still having to field rookies. Remember not all cash cows can be traded at the same time. He has the ability to post reasonably good scores and keep his price from dropping over the next few weeks. Of course the risk is he is subbed out again. Im leaning towards keeping him if I can, and he is named.

Interesting that Johnson was all the rage in the pre-season, a future key to Freo's mids blah, blah.. and now he's 3rd or 4th banana as a trade-in option (in rd 6!)
Surely his pedigree gives him some additional value here?
He's #1 on my list this week, Roberts 2nd because I like him too. Unfortunately Sydney's start to the year has been shocking for SC, with Warner, Heeney, Parker etc all under-performing so who knows what will happen!

Will look at utilising a boost this round….team shaping up strongly…

out:Mckenzie,Davey and Baker
In: Roberts, Johnston and Cogs!

Cogs at $485k feels a better option to cover the loss of Green in the midfield this week, can be moved forward next week to shift Chandler to F7 with full premium forward set up.
