I am thinking the same now.
Well yeah Roberts looks like he'll have to go and I cant see Horse letting him anywhere near the 22 once he's fit again. Took him long enough to get his first crack at it so thats an easy choice. Probably Mitchell
McKenna looks to have topped out with consecutive mis 50s and a price up around 295k. His average after this weekend suggests a top price of maybe 340k but he won't get there scoring 57s. I can upgrade him to Cogs for some hundreds or maybe Day who could do same.
The Pou's just killed his cash generation for the following 2 weeks. Should get a little bump this week and that's it. I'd like to use the rest of my bank to get the other half of Day/Cogs or, since the rookies have turned so sour all of a sudden, maybe hit up a Wagner or something.
Wilmot is in the same boat as the Pou
Phillips: see above
I wanted to correct Richards and but I need to start completing this bloody team. JHF was therefore in the gun for an upgrade as he'll be looking at a 90 BE and I need these MPs to get within touch of fallen ubers like Steele and Touk when he gets back. But I've still got other fish to fry too. Big stinky fish.
An old boss of mine once told me a story. It was one of those radio shows and they've pretended to call Russell Crowe and ask him how he was doing and he quietly but earnestly replied "I'm full of raaage". And that's what I say to myself every time I see LDU soiling up my midfield at the moment. I can only imagine how North fans have felt for the last 8 years he's been taking a wage from their club. And last year they also had to deal with Stevenson and JHF. I'd have been saltier than a Dead Sea Schnapper. Look, maybe he's still a bit crook and maybe I'm being unfair on him or something. I did call him a fraud earlier and that wasn't too nice. But neither's 255 points in 3 games for 580 large. I realise that maybe this bit could have gone in the rant thread so sorry North fans and anyone not looking to be brought down by a middle aged man having a hissy fit.
But hey... Just one more bit, yeah? You remember that ad where John McEnroe is asleep in bed, tossing and turning and clearly having a bad dream? He's mumbling to himself something like "It can't be out?" and "Are you serious" and so on. The vision swims and we enter into his dream and he's standing at the bar and they've run out of Heinekken or something and he's all perplexed and and frustrated repeating "how can it be out?"
Same kind of headspace when I think of how I traded LDU in back in round 4 instead of whoever I was banging on about that week. There's a sense of utter dumbfoundedness but also... injustice. Yeah injustice sounds about right. Like that time I bought a couple of jawliners to give me a better looking jawline as well as something to stop me from grinding my teeth so much and 3 days later had a charge against my card for some steroid pushing operation running out of Cyprus. And I've still got jowls.
Thanks LDU. I want my money back.
But yeah Richards and Horne-Francis.... Yeah I don't really like lazy players like what JHF is doing at the moment. I understand that it probably has to do with me reflecting on my own lazy streak so please don't think I'm making out like I'm superior to the kid. But to think that some were likening him to Nathan Buckley earlier this year - probably the tightest of all tightwads around preparation and getting the most out of himself - is a little bit laughable in retrospect. NCB was drafted to a team he didn't want to play for, sure. And yes, he made arrangements to play for a club he always wanted to play for the following year. But did he sook it up for that year at the Bears? No, he went out and became the first ever winner of the Rising Star award. JHF? Not so much. A pity because I think JHF might have more natural ability. A lot of what Buckley achieved was down to sheer determination and hard work. So JHF is hard to watch, especially when he isn't getting up to much in a game and my opponent doesn't have him. Meanwhile, Ed RIchards is a ranga. A courageous ranga with seriously neat skills and a lot to offer but yeah. Sometimes I just find myself needing to slap him, usually after he's delivered me another 80 point performance...
But somehow, I think the two of them might have just fernangled a stay of execution this week. Think I'll go join old McEnroe at the bar
