As long as you’re building your cash gen pipeline, or upgrading, I wouldn’t worry too much about using up trades. It would be customary to be using 2 trades a week at this point before we had boosts and trades went from 30 to 36, and the changes marginally reduce the value of a trade in my view.

Steele was one of the best in the comp in 2021, so his quality is very high subject to role and fitness. Personally I’d like to see one more good SC score from him before I get him in that format, but I think he’ll be a popular upgrade this week, perhaps with a fraction more risk than normal fitness wise.
Thanks Darkie. Yeah, I think my team is now decent, so will hold off trades until the byes and then use quite a few and remaining boosts to 'slingshot' those I don't really want for those that might be must haves for the final run to the finals.

With Saints having a bye in Rd 12, I think I'll wait for Steele until after then.
I got Sinclair as a hedge this week, and was left disappointed. Gutted even more that Andy Brayshaw went huge, but that was a punty pick that could have went either way.

BTW, is your team name The Darkness?

The slingshots sound good. It’s probably worth keeping an eye out for good downgrade targets pre byes, albeit that I’m not sure Thai weeks cohort looks strong. If a good rookie comes along you may be able to get another upgrade done in a particular week.

Waiting on Steele probably makes sense if you can. I gather he was pretty poor for three rounds, and even played forward for a period (which is really not ideal), and largely salvaged it through one good quarter playing in the midfield.

Those Brayshaw/Sinclair calls can be frustrating when they go against you tye following game, albeit they could switch scores this week.

It is indeed. I had a pretty poor round this last one - I’m wondering if I should have pushed through an upgrade rather than keeping 470k or so in the bank, albeit it could be very handy this round if the cash cows do look poor. Grundy has unfortunately been an obvious potential problem for a couple of rounds, but he hasn’t got to the top of the “to do” list. He may go this round.

Yeah, I've had lots of poor 1st game new transfers, only for them to reverse it next game and end up the better option over 3-5 games.
Here's hoping Sinclair turns it around, but the spider senses are tingling that Brayshaw was the way to go.
That said, the spider senses told me to field Fergus for his 6pts and captain Naicos instead of taking Taranto's.

I had Atkins on the radar and given AThomas likes him, he's in for me.

A friend had mentioned Drury when they saw him in the starting lineup. I think I'll move early for him too as I have no other fires.
He might not do well or may even get left out, but the friend seemed to think he'd earned a few games.
Worst case, he's a base $158k so won't tie up funds.

Ashcroft $640k now so he's value is around 74 pts. Got 2 games at the Gabba coming up.
3 scores at the Gabba have been 90, 76 (vs COLL) & 115.
With a BE of 46, looks worthy of a hold for at least a week, possibly two if he can get close to 90 (drops 115 the following week).

I like the look of Dusty. $688k, so value at 80 pts. Got 3 consecutive games coming up at the MCG.
Last 4 scores at the MCG have been 76, 81, 94 & 106, so improving every week there.
With a BE of around 40, and a bye in Rd 15, could be that mid-price option to get you 100 per week, some cash, and see you thru the byes, ready for a slingshot.

Regardless of the potential Marshall injury, is Marshall to Gawn an even pts swap, but you bank $185k?
With cash being so hard to generate, I feel this premo to premo is worth it.
MEL with a good run too, and talk that Gawn might even get FOR DPP status.
I feel if I don't get Gawn now, he could be gawn for good.

North Melb.
Moved up to 246th overall after a 2,394. I've traded Miller and Parish in the last 3 weeks so avoid Brayshaw at all costs as he is coming in for Parish. Also going Chandler to Atkins. Leaves me with 150k in the bank, 15 trades and the 4 rookies on field (Ashcroft, Atkins, Pedlar & Cincotta). Hopefully enough trades to finish my side with 3-5 left for injuries. Next week im thinking of Drury in for JVR and perhaps Ashcroft to Laird/Merrett but alot to play out before then.

Dusty coming good. Pity I didn't get him, but I have serious issues with the later byes and can't grab any more players with byes in Rd 14 & 15.
Passed up Weddle and will likely pass up Drury. Now got my eyes on Bailey Humphrey and Thomas Berry and similar types who are straight swaps for my deadwood of around 300k. Some pts are better than none for those 2 weeks. Don't want to take donuts for a little extra cash.

16/1554 Oliver vc taken. Changed my ruck set up and brought in both English and Gawn, for Marshall and Witts. Witts outperformed both trade ins, whilst we see if Marshall plays. 3rd trade was Ashcroft to Atkins to free up some cash. Used 2 mid emergencies in Atkins and Baker, as I was looping Atkins score initially, then heard murmurings of De Goey doubt. So if De Goey plays I'll only lose 13 points, if he doesn't play I have cover with Bakers 62, otherwise it may be a donut. Projected 2072, so not going to hurt anyone this round. 😁

Is it possible to get BE's for :-

McKenna

Ashcroft
Baker , Oskar
Hollands

Pedlar

Cheers
Not sure if the multiplier is still 1.16, but I think these BEs are pretty close.

McKenna 71 ([53.4 x 1.16 x 3] - 60 - 55)

Ashcroft 68 ([68.38 x 1.16 x 3] - 106 - 61)
Baker , Oskar 61 ([51.97 x 1.16 x 3] - 62 - 58)
Hollands 39 ([53.02 x 1.16 x 3] - 59 - 86)

Pedlar 44 ([48.41 x 1.16 x 3] - 80 - 45)
