Hawthorn tanking this weeks "Harley Reid Cup" game already?

From The West Australian...

Hawthorn Hawks coach Sam Mitchell tests positive to COVID ahead of clash with West Coast Eagles, Mitchell will be away from the club, with his assistants to lead training sessions early in the week as he recovers.

The Hawks are set to closely assess which players and other staff members had been in contact with their senior coach.
Lol let’s hope so…..haha whoever wins most likely loses in the overall scheme of things

Sydney have confirmed Callum Mills will miss “four to six weeks after scans confirmed a moderate grade calf strain”. Logan McDonald has also been ruled out for eight weeks with a significant medial ankle sprain.

Swans Executive GM, Football, Charlie Gardiner said: “Callum is obviously on of our on-field generals and Logan has been building into some good form so we are disappointed to lose them for what looks like an extended period. We know they will both throw themselves into their rehabilitation and do everything they can to get back as quickly as possible.”

Melbourne offered good news on the injury front for Christian Petracca who had an apparent foot/ankle issue late in their win over Hawthorn.

Dees club doctor Laura Lallanec said: “The scans yesterday thankfully confirmed that he just tweaked that ankle area. He will need to get through training tomorrow and through the rest of the week to play, but we’re fairly hopeful at this stage that there shouldn’t be any issue with him playing this Friday.”

But there was bad news from Richmond on Jacob Hopper. The club update said: “Scans have revealed Richmond midfielder Jacob Hopper suffered a left soleus strain during last Friday night’s win over Geelong at the MCG. The 26-year-old will be unavailable for the medium-term.”

I'm surprised the Supercoach gods even bother watching St Kilda games. :ROFLMAO:
I was enjoying watching their games earlier in the season, not so much now, back then the defence was rock solid and the attacking was fast and furious, goal kicking seems to have reverted back to the ole days when they could hardly kick a goal to save their lives, especially when it was really needed. Hope Ross has a plan B because whatever the plan was the last 3 weeks ( bar North), it's not working.

This "short term, medium term" stuff is very non-committal, I wonder what flake came up with that? are they not qualified medical people making these diagnoses?

Surely this is the week the great CHESSER makes his mercurial comeback?
There's a very good chance he's needed this week with the recent injuries.

He was managed in his first WAFL game on the weekend playing 70% game time, so a sub role unfortunately may be on the cards for this week.

The sub-role is not really relevant for West Coast.....they generally get nearly a full game anyway.
