Kennedy does look a tasty option if we can be confident the role is there.

Averaging 98.3 this year when having greater than 50% CBAs from round 1, 2 and 9.

Interested to hear how settled he is in the line up or within his role from Carlton fans.

Interesting that Cerra was the one squeezed out on the weekend despite being one of their best for the few weeks prior.

I’m not sure about Kennedy. Carlton seem very unsettled and reactive and there’s a lot of pressure on them atm. He’s been in and out of the team hasn’t he?
He had a niggle after first 2 games. After that 2 sub effected games and last week was unleashed.
He started the season at 532k, pod midfielder.
He’s probably the best example of a stepping stone mid you could possibly get.
I did some calculations with current magic number and if he goes at 85ave up until his bye he gets to 420k with 69 b/e.
He is an in and under player so there’s a chance he could go even larger than that.
I have Oliver bont Laird serong green degoey and can’t afford the Walsh Trac types right now, but getting MK for 5 weeks helps me upgrade to a Trac post his bye.
The game has changed and with limited funds being made through rookies we need to get creative.

If it was round 1 I'd be more interested but from here on in I don't like stepping stones. Either a gun or a rookie for me.

Fair enough.
I used to play that way too, but back then we had $$$ to pick up these guns. Nowadays you get the must haves and the rest of the “guns” that I can afford are not trustworthy.
My rule of thumb with MK if I choose to pursue that path is I have a premium(ish) scorer throughout the byes, rnd 12-14 with MK and then rnd 15 MK turns into Trac.

Depends on how many trades you have also in this modern game, I've been decimated early this season so I need keepers.

Anyone contemplating moving Sheezel on?
Just wondered.
Yes. In the next week or so possibly. Much depends on his SC score this week. If he goes poor again (in comparison to his previous scoring) his cash generation will stall. He needs to go back to scoring a couple of tons in weeks 10 and 11. He is a rookie though and it gets harder for them as the season goes on so you cannot knock him for what he has produced. Done a magnificent job but IMO you cannot let the cash he has made slip away either.
Hmmm...can't believe I'm looking a selling the highest scoring rookie I can remember, while I'll still have many rookies on field. But it's Oliver.

I can get rid of Davey, Hopper and Sheezel into Rowell, D Cameron and Sharp w/102k if I used Sheezel, really debating whether to kick him now or wait for his bye. Rowell and Cameron aren't going to get any cheaper

Is the pool of premium mids less to choose from this season or is it just me?

There's plenty of spec picks but outside Oliver and Bont none that are really screaming 120+ average for the entire season? I like Petracca next but after that I'm at a loss.
Its an issue, I like Petracca also.

One unique mid that is close to the 120 mark & is always overlooked is Libba - averaging 118.5 currently.

3 scores of 140+ so far this year along with a 120 & a 118, just 1 score under 100 (87 in round 2)

Anyone game enough to go Hopper to Kennedy/Wines?
Very unlikely.

Wines far too reliant on accumulating a large amount of the ball to compensate for his poor disposal efficiency and unsure if the midfield rotations will enable this. Historically does not boast a high TOG% with 72.4 this season after a career high last year of 77.4%. Yet to have a look at Kennedy but likely to prefer cheaper premiums or cash grabs in the forward line rather than the midfield.
