Hearing reports of James Gwilt to play at Essendon.
Could do worse, they might need him and a few more if the players get bans.
I doubt they could field 22 at moment if many of players of 2012 involved with supplements program by Essendon footy pharmacy got kicked out of playing for some time.
Might need at least 15 more Gwilt types to field a team.

Kavanagh is going and not sure if Winderlich , Zaha and Kommer skipped the pharmacy experiment altogether

Could be a good year to be on their rookie list!

From a SC perspective, there'd be plenty of Essendon players on the park getting ample game time who are cheap as chips if that happened.

My first thought when a player is injured or suspended is the effect on my supercoach team followed by guilt for being so shallow. Hopefully lots of Essendon cash cows newt year! :)

Intetesting question but why would a club who finished last cut a player who's obviously still good enough to play AFL and is still only 28? Given that the story on AFL.com says that 2 other clubs were interested in him it seems a bit odd!

Good point Drew. Not sure how I feel about this signing. Honest player but not really a Beams, Griffen or Christensen.
Could go ok but would prefer to give some of the young players some games.

Brisbane's Jack Crisp has informed the club he would be willing to be traded back to Victoria but if not would be happy to sign a 2 year deal at the Lions. Essendon is interested and could see picks head the Lions way to re-enter the complex 5-team deal to see Beams become a Lion.

GEELONG: In - Mitch Clark, pick 21 Out - Travis Varcoe, Allen Christensen
COLLINGWOOD: In - Levi Greenwood, Travis Varcoe, Pick 5, Out - Dayne Beams, Heritier Lumumba
NORTH MELBOURNE: In - Pick 25, Out - Levi Greenwood
MELBOURNE: In - Heritier Lumumba, Out - Mitch Clark
BRISBANE: In - Dayne Beams, Out - Pick 5, 25

Varcoe stayn the same place as me in bali, really hope we dont get him. If were going youth lets stick to it. Varcoe not the worst out there but definitely not the best. Cant see it as a positive step getting him

That mega trade sounds like the biggest fantasy speculative trade all window and it happens on the weekend too. Unless I see something that's actually got quotes out of someone from one of the club's mouths I'm going to remain cynical on it.

This off-season has been like jumping through the rabbit hole...

Interesting development with Tom Boyd now wanting to be traded to the doggies. Would be a good pick for the doggies who need a key fwd.

Unfortunately..
GWS CEO David Matthews said Boyd would not be released from the final year of his contract to join the Bulldogs.

"With Ryan Griffen indicating he will seek a trade to the Giants, we are in discussions with the Western Bulldogs," Matthews said.

"We have been clear with them that despite any speculation or interest, Tom Boyd will not be traded under any circumstances.

"With pick four and potentially another high first-round selection we are confident we are in a strong trade position as we enter the week."
