Looking at maric's score and his 12% ho to advantage im thinking mummy may not be the best pick at his price.
Maric last 3 yrs has been around 25%, so 82 points at 12% isn't the end of the world.

Just read on Twitter that matric had 12% for hit outs to advantage and wood had 17% for HO TO ADV
Could be the reason for a deflated score from maric?

Phew! That makes feel a little better about the pick fellas :)

Any idea what hit outs to disadvantage was? I'm sure i saw his score drop when he was tapping it directly to the other team...but had a look at the SC scoring rules and it doesn't appear listed (yes i know they don't disclose all) but thought it would be listed if he did in fact lose points for hit outs to disadvantage,

Look's like their will be a ton of rain up in Sydney for the swans/bombers clash. Is this enough for me to stay away from Bellchambers? Sounds stupid that the forecast could sway me but I'm clutching at straws.

I wouldn't be basing a selection on one week's weather forecast.

More stoppages with the wet footy will likely result in more hitouts and tackles. Mummy and Sandi put up some massive numbers last year in wet games, TBC not quite at their level but should be handy imo...

Won't believe it until I see it from an official source, Jock & Paige only sites I've seen running with it. Surely something that important would be in Prospectus?

Yeah you'd think so. Would've thought someone would've asked freako by now actually.

Looking at Maric's stats:
- 8 kicks, 5 handballs, 13 disposals (9 contested), 85% disposal efficiency, 4 marks, 2 frees for, 2 frees against, 33 hitouts (4 to advantage)

On face value looks better than a 91 AF : 82 SC type ratio if hitouts to disadvantage weren't being negatively scored, which is pretty much why i've made the conclusion that they are losing points.

It will be real interesting to see how rucks are scored this weekend. It's a big part of the reason why i've gone off 2 premium ruckmen as well!

Had Maric locked until late then chickened out. There are very few ruckmen I rate but I still can't seem to make things fit.

Jacobs (Too expensive when you consider the 600k mids you could have. One good season)
Mumford (This year I've made a promise not to spend 10 trades through 2 ruck positions)
Goldstein (Check)
Natanui (Maybe. Not cheap. Slightly undervalued. One good season 113 and next best is 96. Misses games with frequent late withdrawals. If he kills it will be in no way unobtainable. All up too risky for me.)
Maric (One good year. Sketchy injury history)
Minson (Plodder but No.1 ruck. Should be good for averaging 90-100)
TBC - (Never considered until reading training reports and named as no.1 ruck. Doesn't meet a half decent ruck until round 6 Sandi. At his price I've turbo charged my midfield by getting in a 6th premium and it feels good! Will be well and truly traded out early and gives time to assess who's flying and who's not. Sandi to Goldy last year was my best move by a long way. Hoping for same scenario this year.

Don't rate or consider any other rucks except for Ryder into the forward line come upgrade time.

Started as Goldy and Natanui. Goldy and Maric. Goldy and Minson. Goldy and Natanui. Now Goldy and TBC. Gotta nail rucks one year surely.

Solid promise Obie! :p

My plan is to go TBC to either Jacobs or Stef Martin (yes really, gut feel) after they have their bye and TBC has his. We all know quickly plans can change when it comes to ruckmen though but in an ideal world that would be my trade.

The thing with Belcho is that he isn't a great tap out ruckman and doesn't do a heck of a lot around the ground either. From being the lone ruckman he'll get opportunities to score points, but it's (hopefully) set and forget Goldstein/Nic Nat for me. Backing Naitanui to play 20+ games at 105-110.

I had a dream last night that only 2 rucks averaged over 100... They were Sandilands (106) and Goldstein (103).
