NN low tog and burst play is still a worry. I mean the guy was off the field within the first 3 minutes of the game or close to it. Only played 51% and I get it's pre-season and you ease hium in to it but surely you would want to see game time up to 75% in the next match? probably won't even play next match.

I say just play him into the ground like Collingwood did to Josh Fraser a few years back, that's the smartest thing to do, ruckman are such a waste of a spot.
I wouldn't read anything into last nights TOG numbers. Nic Nat has just had his first pre-season hitout in 4 years or so. Would be a bit silly to go hard straight out of the gate.

Once the actual season gets here he will be back at his normal TOG numbers. I don't think we'll see Nic Nat at 75% TOG... He's just not that type of player. I'd expect him to be slightly above last years numbers and in the 65-70% range for the regular season. It won't affect his SC numbers as it's more about what kind of impact he has when on field, and we all know that he is elite at having a big impact on games.

Watched on a chitty stream so wasn't the best viewing. Gotta sort out my eagles global membership for aflview.

Pass mark for Brander. First competitive outing in a new role and not perfect conditions for it. You feel he will need to offer more in the coming weeks to really make the spot his own. Waterman had the better overall game so once Darling, Gaff, Yeo return to the side and Brander/Waterman are likely battling for a bench spot, Brander probably not locked in to play at this stage. Hopefully next game is a dry one and he builds on this game.

Williams looked very promising as well hopefully starts round 1. Hard to know how the chips will fall with the R2 situation though.

I don't think the Freo game will reveal anything for Nic's TOG as they'll still be deciding on Vardy/Williams. Maybe Hickey gets a run as well. I agree too risky to start, I don't think he gets enough time to push 110+ average so you would likely need to sideways at some stage. He'll be 30 this year, two knee recos, host of other injuries. Managed all season.

For all the Thatcher jokes, his score and stats seemed pretty reasonable. Don’t expect him to be a very high scorer (potentially could get a spike score if lucky) but his JS is very very rock solid with Ambrose out for 2-3 months. 100% for R1 so handy to have as a “break glass in case of rookie emergency” option

100% agree. Looked prepared to come off the man to take an intercept mark and got involved in a few Def 50 exit chains. He's clearly going to play and I thought he looked good and a 50-60av with rock solid JS worth 190k atm. Hard to run him and Young in the back line tho

How long do you have to be on a bandwagon before you can start complaining about others jumping on? Is five days enough?
I think if you genuinely had somebody in your team that is an ultra POD or Super POD (Under 5%) even the day before they suddenly jump to become a POD (5%-10%) or no longer a POD at all then you can complain about others jumping on.

With the example of Petracca, if you brought him in on Friday when he was 1% then you could complain on Saturday night at which point he had jumped to 7%. Now he isn’t even a POD at 13% and rising.

For the record, I had him for at least one month before he became popular.

Is 1% ownership an "Ultra-Mega Pod?"

I won’t be taking him. Would be a monster if he could get to 80% but sadly will never happen.
I respectfully disagree. These are preseason games, it's logical that he only plays a small allotment as he's eased back in. But 60% tog is the equivalent of just over half a game; there is no way a key player in your team plays only half a game each week when the real stuff starts, otherwise what's the point ? IMO his game time goes up to mid 70s once the 4 pointers start. I'm skipping Gawn to start but am leaning more towards ROB though at this point in time.

He’s already had a season at 60% TOG in 2018. The club have said his TOG will be managed at similar levels to 2018. It may go up but I can only go with the info available.

I love these sort of messages. Especially the respectful part. It happens every year, and I am so interested at the time to see who eventually has the win. Although, by the time we know, I have sooooo forgotten this discussion. What I would love, is for a spreadsheet with every disagreement in the forum. Then this could be analysed at the end of the season so that we could see who really got it right...

ok - just re-reading that - I think I may have now been cooped up inside too long... Happy Friday.

If you were the Eagles, surely the plan is to get to a double chance by playing NN as little as practically possible, so he can put in 4 big weeks and leap you to a flag?
If they're going well in a match, fair chance he sits on the bench for the last 10mins. If they are playing a bottom 4 side at home, I think we'll even see him rested (provided he's not injured already).

I assume that is the idea. Injury prone and being paid big money. Can turn a game on its head. Won’t want to take any risks with him.
