I like to look for upside in my mids.... an average of 86 up to Rd 7 then 128 after that.... will be priced based on a year average of 116 so that almost makes it a no brainer
My question is how many Dogs can you fit into your team?
Macrae has been amazing the last 2 season.
Bont great too.
Dunkley crushed the back half of last year.
Libba and Hunter score well too.

Then there's Daniel in the backline, and Lipinski and BSmith up forward.

Are they all gonna keep scoring well week in week out or could it become a too many cooks situation.

I love Macrae but am leaning towards starting Dunkley instead, and really like Daniel as a starter too.

Does no one else in their team score points? Or is there gameplan just so well suited to SC scoring?

Interestingly after Rd 7 Macrae ave 127 which is 4 points higher than his season ave of 123 indicating Dunkley's sudden appearance had no impact on his scoring.

Interesting to note.

Libba playing more of a forward role and then being injured a couple of times and Wallis's injury would have certainly helped. Macrae seemed to be playing a lot of time on the wing at the same time as Dunkley was playing forward.

As alluded to above the change of scenery should be extremely beneficial and 1 would assume that his time on ground, disposal and tackle averages will receive an increment. A very high CPR% in conjunction with not displaying a tendency to handball before kick also bodes well for him.

H Greenwood:
Career SC Avg: 85.42 from 48 (18/48 below 80, 36/48 below 100, 2/48 120+)

2017 SC Avg: 84.58 from 12
2018 SC Avg: 85.95 from 22
2019 SC Avg: 85.29 from 14

Career Tackles Avg: 6.58
SC avg when tackles equal/exceed 7: 95.04 from 24 (low of 70 and a high of 127, 4/24 below 80, 16/24 below 100, 1/24 120+)
SC avg when tackles below 7: 75.79 from 24 (low of 45 and a high of 133, 14/24 below 80, 20/24 below 100, 1/24 120+)

Career Contested Possessions Avg: 11.38
SC avg when contested possessions equal/exceed 12: 99.62 from 21 (low of 68 and a high of 133, 2/21 below 80, 12/21 below 100, 2/21 120+)
SC avg when contested possessions below 12: 74.37 from 27 (low of 45 and a high of 104, 14/24 below 80, 24/27 below 100, 0/27 120+)

Didn't manage to grab J Dunkley last season as I couldn't afford him post byes as well as forgoing him in RD8 due to preferring J Westhoff which cost me roughly 1000 points for the remainder of the season.:cry:

Glad I recommended for those to hold him early on in conjunction with identifying him as a great option around RD5-RD8 thus compensating for his absence in my side.

Will be very interesting to see how the Dogs midfield trio perform next season.

J Dunkley since post bye 2018: 118.84 from 32 (3/32 below 80, 11/32 below 100, 11/32 120+)
Averaging 28.28 disposals and 6.25 tackles throughout the above period.

In regards to starting I assume 3 would be the max with Bontempelli the one likely to miss out and I think J Macrae, J Dunkley and C Daniel all are all solid selections and present upside whereas I expect Bontempelli to feature in the 105-112 range.

The Bont is an interesting one. He seems to have been around for ages but he only turned 24 last month. He is one of the few players I can recall to ave over 100 in his second season. This year was his best by ave and I wonder if he is the one to benefit from Macrae and Dunkley appearing in the midfield. Would it be fair to say prior to this year he was Mr. Fixit playing forward, mid and wherever etc. when required and this has prevented him from perhaps ave higher in past seasons as opposed to him being just a pure mid?

Yes.

Main concern regarding the Bont is that he doesn’t amass enough of the ball evident by only recording 14 matches above 30 disposals from 121 since 2014 with 5 of those occurring in 2019. For him to increase his avg again it will likely mean that he has to avg around 28 disposals which seems unlikely.
