So what do you take from that? Do they need an extra defender to help even the load? Or are they endurance beasts, or couldn't get a proper rest due to the extra 150 odd possessions to the Doggies.

Early days, but my theory would be that this was planned, as a way to allow players in other positions to rotate onto the bench more.

There were some defs (not just Collingwood’s) who played multiple 100% TOG games last year, given the shorter quarters.

Smashing it. Don't think it'll be a battle between the two of us for worst on ground this year with that sort of score! I really need to step up my game...

5/512 here. I'm only slightly down on the score I expected to be at this point (I expected about 525 based on my predicted season averages), so not complaining. Grundy the only on field let down so far, Henry too of course, who I can see stinking my bench up all season. Maybe he will become this year's Balta and score a ton once most have given up on him...

I think the majority of rookies are going to be pot luck the first few rounds.

I can see Finlay Macrae getting a debut very early in this pies team - Ruscoe, Henry & WHE tonight were very ordinary.
Adams looks underdone after his hamstring issues, Pendles isn’t getting any younger...

Moore was outstanding tonight, pies best player & I thought Maynard was very solid.

Grundy's still got the hitouts part down, but what about the tackles, clearances and marks? One Pies player over 10 contested possessions= probably not a game for Grundy whether he'd played well or not.

Stef Martin on the other hand, what a player. Definitely one of my all time favourite Lions. I wouldn't necessarily expect this sort of performance from him every week though, and the Dogs probably won't either.

Ended up losing Rowell & Taranto , was keen on H Clark & Duggan but hopefully the remainder remain premiums.

Was keen on your Brayshaw so keen to see how he goes this season.

Just really hope I have got the right rookies this season and they actually play enough games to make some meaningful $$$

I’ve currently gone Gawn, Flynn, meek amd trading Gawn to Hunter is just the kind of thing that appeals to me....

Had 4 doggies and Grundy. Thank god I turned Henry to McNeil via dpp because I would have fielded Henry had I not.
