They're only elite kicks because they're playing chipscabs in the backline under no pressure. They were both shocking kicks when they played midfield.
You could have 12 of the best kicks in the league, when Tom Campbell is your clear best forward target followed by Nick Larkey you're going to look awful trying to get past half way. Kangas actually have an alright group in the middle and back half but their forwards are up there with the worst I've ever seen.

You both make very good points, but it still doesn't explain why they're both playing in defence together. Hall is awful defensively, Ziebell is kind of ok but when he's there with Hall he ends up playing on a mismatch a lot of the time. It certainly won't fix there problems, but I feel like Halls delivery into the forward line (when he's not under pressure) could help them a bit, but the main thing it would do is vastly improve their defence. I dont think they had issues bringing it out of the backline without Hall was there so I see no reason for it.

Ok Ziebell vc didn't quite work out, unsighted in the 2nd half. Spooked having Merrett as Captain, so will move forward to tomorrow, Walsh, Lloyd, Fyfe, or with Logue a late out maybe Big Charlie can get hold of a few.

Played: J Macrae (VC), C Daniel, S May, C Oliver, M Gawn, C Poulter, B Grundy, T Stewart, J Kelly (C), T Taranto, J Daniher, D Zorko and J Ziebell
Yet to play:
Saturday: J Impey
Sunday: R Laird, R Sloane, D Martin, J Short, P Cripps, S Docherty, I Heeney and A Cerra

Handed the captaincy duties to J Kelly after the inclusion of F Macrae meant I was unable to bank the VC from J Macrae. Very happy with his performance considering his side lost by 10 goals. Keeping a close eye on the performance of Reeves tonight as the favourite to replace Rowe by moving Treacy back to the fwd bench to cover for Grundy and others for the bye period.

Was very close to grabbing Madden and Steele this round but could not resist the value of Cerra and Heeney given my trades left and cash generation this season. The aim is that they are within 0-40 points of the duo by the completion of this round and a small difference by the end of RD13. A nervous wait until RD15 to grab Steele and hopefully manages to stay under $600,000 but his teammate Byrnes has been very impressive on my bench and his cash will be very handy by then.
