Did you watch the game?

The ball basically lived in the tigers front half after 1/2 time, bit hard for Short when he is playing half back ...

Can’t judge a player after 1 game especially in a thrashing like that when the ball wasn’t in his area for long periods.
I was actually at the game and was disappointed when he clanger kicked it straight to Steele in Q1 and kept kicking into the man on the mark after that.

Yeah sure it would’ve been nice if St Kilda put up more of a fight, but I still wasn’t impressed with Short’s game.

Brought Short in after finally convincing myself he could be a top 6 chance and I get that garbage.

Really annoyed (n)

I agree with @Shannon. A real coulda, woulda, shoulda game for Short it feels, and I was someone who traded him in as well.

Some really uncharacteristic clangers and turnovers, reckon he kicked into the man on the mark at least three times, missed a gimmie 15m inside ball in the first term as you say, was burnt on the hands by teams (at least three times by DUSTY!! alone), and then STK couldn't get the ball remotely near halfway, let alone into the area where Short does his best work.

Whilst far from an ideal start, I'm still happy with my decision to execute the trade and will take the 74 given the circumstances and run.
And expect/hope that it's back to normal proceedings from here. The Dees will at least threaten the Tigers defence, unlike the Saints.

I left the E on Highmore o_O. I have Chapman on the bench next to him. If I put an E on Chapman as well do I get Chapmans score as Highmore DNP and therefore has no score. Or do I get a zero for Highmore DNP. The rule says as per below and says the lowest scoring emergency will be used. I know this gets asked every season but first time I have been in this spot and want to make sure I understand it right.

Where there are 2 emergencies selected in one position and only one of these is required, the lowest scoring emergency will be used. Emergencies can simply be toggled on or off with a click of the Emergency button.

In the same part of the help section has this:
  • Emergencies scoring 0 or negative points will not be considered the 'lowest-scoring' and will not be used.

Assuming you have a donut onfield, if you have both E's on Highmore & Chapman, you will indeed get Chapman's score as Highmore counts as a DNP.

Thanks guys for replying. I did not see that line in the help section @Under The Dome so thanks for pointing it out. I thought it would be okay to use Chapman but wasn't 100% sure and did not want to multiply one mistake by making another.

Hunter Clark just about outperformed Steele in the midfield in the practice match and round 1, let alone all their other mids. Surely they stop persisting with Seb Ross and get Clark back into the midfield soon. Roaming around half back winning hard balls like a midfielder is wasted down there, they need him in the middle winning clearances like he did practice match and round 1

Gee, Dusty and Short generated a bit of talk in here last night - you get what you get and you don't get upset..........SC scores that is and not broccoli.
Dusty was pretty much exactly as he has been for the last 3 years. Finds a way to get 85-105 pretty consistently with the occasional 120+ thrown in where he monsters a side or singe handedly drags his team across the line.

If you had him from R1 and got the 150 and 120 then all is rosy really. If you picked him up after that, dare I say it, but have probably overpaid by about $50k against his likely output for the rest of the season.

As odd as it sounds im actually glad Steele went 105 rather than a 120 odd as it makes the VC/C call pretty staight forward. Just gotta settle on either Macrae or Gawn now
Was thinking the same thing. I don’t have Gawn. Grundy and Macrae for me. But with Macrae’s record against GC makes it pretty easy.
