JL has confirmed there will be changes, Treacy should come in with Sturt who kicked 5 for Peel I think it was, now who goes out, not sure, Darcy or Meek or Tab?
There problem is the opposite, they should be picking Treacy WITH those two, imo. I very rarely say a team is playing two short but Freo are genuinely doing that.

Walters is a good leading forward, generally, but none of the other guys offer anything as targets. It's why Fyfe is so important, when he rests forward he adjusts the opposition defense because he demands accountability.

On the weekend the Blues knew they'd always have a third man up because they knew that Colyer, Frederick, Schultz, Henry, Schultz and even Walters were total non-options as marking targets.

Taberner being so terrible just compounded the problem.

Matthew Taberner, the Fremantle forward who kicked at least one goal in every game he played bar one last year, and was in the All Australian squad of 40?

He has 7 goals in three games this year, is a fantastic contested mark, and you want to drop him for an 18 year old kid who hasn't played an official competitive game in the best part of two years.

Seems like a massive knee jerk reaction on Taberner. Fremantle are crying out for more decent forward targets, removing their best avenue doesn't seem logical to me.
Taberner was truly terrible on the weekend. If there was a player that played worse in the 9 games this week I didn't see it but I do agree that dropping him is not happening, as per the above, they need another tall, another genuine target, not less.

Fair point. But I just don't think he kicks enough goals. In his career he has never ave over 2 goals in a full season. For a key forward who has been around a while I am not sure that is enough. But you are right in that he probably won't get dropped.

I'll be in all sorts of bother if Meek gets dropped - will be a tough call whether to keep him and hope he comes back for more cash gen or trade him straight up to Grundy via a switch somewhere else.

Or I could just roll with Fullarton as cover for a week before sorting myself out, but that is yuk.

Either way, surely the guy has done enough to stay? Has been a genuine competitor for Freo out on the park with second and third efforts that have a lot better than many of his team mates.

Last couple of games he seemed to play forward for a prolonged spell in the second half of the second quarter. Very frustrating to watch but if the purpose is to keep him fresh with fewer rotations then it seems to be working. Can't complain about his scoring, and he has been coming home strong.
We were fortunate he actually kicked goals on the weekend. He’d usually miss those!

Watching AFL 360, John Haynes the GM of footy at GC said when asked about who would ruck that Caleb Graham (284k DEF) is one that has played that role in his junior days and may get a shot, Zac Smith round 7-8 and also will look at the midseason draft.
Can they draft Hunter?
I'm hangen on to him!
