Did you get a good look at Milera’s role in the Crows in intraclub?

Heard it was more wing/fwd in the first half but then a bit more inside mid in the second. Didn’t catch the game myself though!
Watching the replay of the game at the moment, have watched the first half so far.
Mid/wing and off half forward in the first half mainly. But was a couple of times he pushed back to help and was able to get his hands on it and rebound outside defensive 50.

He was kind of everywhere! This was a bit disappointing as one of the issues for Wayne in that he hasn't been able to settle into a spot. He was on the wing, in the mids, up fwd....didn't see him down back much and smith was back there all the time. He looks like he has his zip back though and very strong too which is good to see ... and he is actually quite good overhead too which is a bonus.

I think we need to wait for the last practice game to really see his role.

Milera can play that high half forward/wing role well as he did in the back end of 2018. Played alot more in that forward role during the first half of the season and pushed up to the wing in the second half.
Thanks all! One to monitor closely in the preseason games for me. Bit worried myself about a Wing/Fwd role but a Def/Mid role sounds good. Less risk though at Milera’s cheap price and as pointed out Milera does have a decent form line post 2018 bye until injury in 2019.

Yeah, I have him too currently. 85 average until his R14 bye for a slingshot isn't the worst result either. Although some would argue that's not a good result, I would be happy enough with that. Bonus if he can go 90-95 and become a quasi keeper. Too much time fwd scares me though.

I'm still coy on him, the comment was 50/50 or thereabouts. Playing in a different team with a team first mentality there will be opportunity as compared to when he was at GWS, Just my thoughts. Longer quarters will suit.
That’s an interesting point - I was thinking that if he didn’t score well as a forward at GWS, that doesn’t bode well for his forward scoring at Carlton unless they make a big jump up the ladder this year.

I was always mildly uncomfortable about Williams’ injury history anyway, so for now I’ll go back to an earlier plan and bring in Heeney.

As it turns out I had Laird in the mids and was keen on getting a premo M-F to the mids anyway, so I can go Zac => Isaac via DPP with no rookie changes.

fair call, I wasn't interested in Heeney due to ongoing injury concerns, but his 4 goal effort has got my attention. Nicely priced too.

I’ve been against Williams basically all ore season but I’m the opposite to most on here. I think him playing forward is actually more desirable to him as a pick. Playing at the wide open spaces of the g he will be free to seagull and use his running capacity more then at giants stadium. Mixing inside time with a mix of forward time is more appealing then him at half back. Can see him Getting 8-12 contested possessions 5 clearances 5 tackles with the odd goal a game. Add them to 10-15 uncontested possessions and he’s gonna be a bloody good pick!

I had Milera until I heard these kind of reports, just feels like a rollercoaster I don't want to be on, could pump out a 90 one week and back it up with 2 50's when his role is rubbish.
