Dawson + Milera + Hinge , is that going OTT on Crows players in defense?
Not at all. Dawson isn't going to be in defense, Milera may also not be which would leave all 3 in great scoring positions. Worth noting that Hinge and Milera are both basically rookies in the team, neither needs to be a premium so both can easily be out of your team by the byes.

I definitely am a chance of all 3, Hinge I think would be a lock if he gets through the preseason and has the role I expect he will. Milera not a lock but a very strong option if he's got a good role also and, of course, stays fit. Dawson I'm not as committed but if the role is what has been advertised and he looks really good in it, I'd back it.

The Zac Williams failure is in my mind though after last year that new clubs can take some time to acclimate to. Williams was far more proven in his role change and had been legitimately good in it for GWS and still failed completely for Carlton. That said, Dawson in the right role has the upside potential to make him a starting choice with advantages.

Darkie do you have Like Robot, out of curiosity
ha ha funny. although couldn't find the definition, assuming someone liking everything robot in nature rather than a like algo.

Guessing your were thinking - when you ask a question and someone likes it - you are like Whaaaat, I want an opinion, what does a like mean.

Hehe - I have thought about that it in the past. At times I give a like when I see the post, and plan to come back and answer later; at others I just think it’s a good question/a contribution I’d like to encourage.

The primary reason I give likes is to encourage the contribution (rather than because I necessarily agree with everything in the post - although often I will).

Some of the better posts are ones thoughtfully questioning views that I/the SCS community hold perhaps without adequate thought.

David Noble did an interview, this part caught my eye :-

McDonald going back to half back, in 2020 when playing half back he was really racking up big scores in the 2nd half of the year :-

Could hurt Hall's scoring depending on the exact role they want him to play back in defence.

This time 12 months ago he was being talked up massively after his 95.5 season

$ 372k mid could be a POD alternative to the Lipinski & Rowell price types

Struggling to pick between Sicily and Whitfield…. Both risky Whitfield a bit more though but higher ceiling. Both great value but at under 450k is Sicily better to risky to take both. Thoughts?

I'll need to be convinced otherwise not to start both of them to be honest, underpriced quality players in pretty free roles.

Think they both have high ceilings.

Whitfield - more injury prone given his tall slim nature.

Sicily - every so often just gets shut down 44/50 vs GWS and WCE in 2020 (was injured late in Q4). Does suit overall more rather than league where he can cost you a final.

Is there a reason not to pick any of Lloyd, Hall, Short and Ridley?

Such overwhelmingly strong case to take all 4.

Is there room for anyone else? Especially since we seem to get decent rookies in defence every year too?

If you can afford all 4, they make great choices. Paying their value and can expect a stable response from the selections. make money on the cash cows

More concerned about his impact on Hall than his own value, can't see him being the guy they go to over Hall or Ziebell but you never know.

Good signs for Polec on the wing though.

Whitfield? Unless you go 5 deep in defence. Dawson has potential upside too if he's turned into a midfielder.

Think it becomes a problem when the Mills of last year scenarios arise, also the chance that quality players gain defence eligibility, if you've got 4 premo backs already you dont leave yourself a great deal of wiggle room.
