4 premo mids is definitely the way to go this year imo
Fading Neale won’t be a popular call but I think I’ll be going Macrae Steele touk and titch
Jhf is a must have for security
Daicos will play 15+ games regardless of what Macrae says we only need 10 and he’ll be at a nice upgrade price
Ward has walsh traits. Should play round 1
Erasmus looks a lock for Freo for round 1
Hobbs great in the intra club recently
Add in cheapies like mead mcinness Stephens Goater and Parker at 102k I like the 4 premo set up. Especially with the lack of cheap guys in the forward and backline lines that look like they’ll play early.

I’d rather back in a first round pick like Gibcus at 171k with grimes Néw injury today over a 123k guy with sketchy js. Rachele the same at the crows. I avoided these types last year but butts around a similar price proved to be a great cash cow. This year job security with rookies is priority number 1!

These types are more likely to play the 10 games needed to upgrade to premos. I’m banking the curnow/Brodie/coleman types to get to those 600k mids. When you factor in the extra trades you can 2 down 1 up a few different times to get to the walsh/Oliver types. I think both them and Bont will fall as they’re prime tag targets. All it takes is 1 bad game at over 600k and you’re back under 600k. Something to seriously weigh up

Between Daicos,JHF,Erasmus,Ward,Hobbs,Stephens and Clark I dont see midfield cash gen being an issue, probably 4 or 5 after that Im pretty confident play early aswell, its other areas of the ground that concern me right now, think those going 5 premo mids plus the Berry/Caldwell sort of selections may be forfeiting some pretty crucial rookie cash generation.

You shouldn't pick Berry or Caldwell if you think they are making less money than the cheaper rookies. It should be seen as a safer route to at least the same amount of money.

But do Berry & Caldwell (possibly Constable) have better JS and scoring potential than the JHF , Daicos , Ward , Eramus , Stephens , Hobbs etc etc ?

Ideally we want them to be going 80 + to make significant $$$ , if they are not playing inside are they scoring close enough to that ?

JHF playing forward (loves a contest and cuddle though based on watching him in the SANFL) , Daicos playing off HB.

What sort of mid rotation are the others getting , Essendon have half a dozen before Hobbs (and Caldwell for that matter) , not sure on Eramus & Ward , Stephens (Sydney) likely on the wing.

Don't want to be stuck with too many of those rookies if they are playing 3-4 games then getting a rest as well.

Daicos playing off half back would actually be great for his SC scoring I think @Herbie66

Such a lucrative position for scoring, look at Ziebell & Hall last year - with the skills & vision Daicos has, I would expect the pies to give the ball as much as possible to him as he is such a damaging kick/ he could provide them so much rebound coming off half back.

SP10 might demand a lot of it though , suspect if he (Daicos) is as half as good as the media are making him out to be , most opposition teams will be putting a lot of attention into him especially if he & Pendles are the only 2 players who can kick the pill properly out of defence.

Imagine if he is BOG in his debut game , the media attention will increase 100 fold again 😀

Can't wait to see him play.

Even though they might work out it might be that they aren't needed. These expensive cash cows are normally a safety net if the rookies look bare. Caldwell is pure speculation as he hasn't shown anything yet. Even last year in round 1 he turned 104 Fantasy points into 74 Supercoach points. At least we know Berry can do it.

Its only a safer route if the rookies aren't there and playing regularly and scoring well, they consistently are in the midfield, add the fact its a stacked draft for mids plus Berry and Caldwell's genuine fitness concerns and I really think the 200-300k selections should be elsewhere personally.

Daicos is way too good to be a half back seagull, they are wasting him if he plays there in all honesty.

I am probably too fixated on Berry (have wanted to pick him at M5 since the end of last year) , don't mind the JHF , Daicos , Ward setup at M6-8 then Eramus , Hobbs , Stephens etc etc who ever else puts their hand up.

Can get Macrae , Steele , Titch , Neale , Berry easily enough.

No expert on the Essendon team but would have about 6 of their mids ahead of Caldwell

D & F seems the biggest concern although we have 40 days to go so no use getting too worried at the moment
