Yes you are right for every one of us fossil SuperCoach tragics who quit because of 35 trades another 50 newbie’s will join.

And if I’m honest with myself can’t imagine watching non Carlton games without Fanfooty on the iPad, watching my players go up +3. So guess I’m here to stay no matter what Steve does.

I just dont understand the logic of going early on rookies when theres guys available that youve seen two games out of that will do the job for their price, have another look and get them when they are on the bubble.

Comes down to your personal assessment of scoring potential vs. job security. There are safe plays and risky plays, that’s what makes SC fun. There are moves that don’t seem logical but can have massive rewards if they work. My personal assessment is that Carrol looks a really good player with high scoring potential, if he plays well again this week he probably holds his spots and can make more money and score more points than McComb, making him the better pick. Going early allows me to do I cash cow down, 1 cash cow and 1 mid pricer up to 2 preemos, massive move for my team.

Carroll played a totally different position and role to Hewett, it's more like someone like Setterfield who he's keeping out.

If Carroll continue to play well he won’t get dropped and he has a bit of class. But a few underwhelming games and can see him make way for a Hewett type. Yes different positions but can see Cerra/Walsh play a bit more wing to bring Hewett in.

Carroll is safest to wait until named for his third game, Clark a better option if going early.

Yeh I agree, Cerra played more inside last week, Hewett return will push him more out so indirectly could affect Carroll. He was bloody good though last weekend and I reckon they'll give him games, he's been playing in the twos for long enough but as you said, I wouldn't be downgrading to him this week. I am a bit more confident in McComb than others in stringing together enough games to make a decent amount of cash for his $102k starting price.

The Josh Glenn rule.

McComb and Curtis really only have to score 50-60s to make 100K-150k, one is a 26 year old that they picked up for a reason and the others one of few positive lights in a rubbish side and will be provided plenty of opportunities, don't really see the need to be downgrading to anyone else this week.

Daicos, Hayes, McCartin -> Sicily, Cripps, Parker

Nothing has happened since Sunday night to change this plan, so I guess I'll roll with it and see where it goes.

Personally would still do :-

Hayes - > Curtis
Xerri - > Parker

Dixon keeps the link with English when he returns.

Move MacDonald & Ward on the following week to Carroll/Clark/Hamilton/Rioli etc builds the bank then look at a couple of defender upgrades.

Daicos & Martin keep scoring well enough upgrade them both at their Byes.

Doing extremely well from where you were a few years ago , quick learner , well done.

Fair dinkum professor, I am trying to bury my head in the sand about this hewett thing but every thread I go to, there it is staring me right in the face!

Im a bit nervous about McComb, with Garcia, Hunter, JJ to return over the next couple of rounds.

I get this but when you look at the other options available it's slim pickings. he's a strong body mature ager so that's a plus but does have competition for his spot and questions around his disposal.

I like Connor Hamilton but again a number of risks there, Carrol the same, Curtis no idea but sounds like your classic small forward, Rioli kicked goals late against WCE so not sure there's much to take out of that and probably the best option os out H&S protos and I've been burnt before bringing in a similar player and not keen for that again.

Whitfield is basically colatoral damage related to having too many Rd 12 premiuims. Probably going early on Dacios, but gets two round 14 keepers (which are lacking).

Leaves as definate upgrades McCartin, Clark, Martin and Pruess (maybe), but still have plenty of dispsable value on bench (SDK, Hinge, NOD, JHF) to get the last upgrades done.

Thoughts?

I think I will just play a straight bat this week and have reconsidered.

Rachele and NDacios to McComb and Oliver.

R1 - 36 touches, 10 marks, 5 tackles, 1 goal vs Sydney

R4 - 28 touches, 6 marks, 3 tackles, 1 goal vs Bulldogs

Better stats than I’d thought, possibly because of R2 dragging down the averages.
