Unless you are certain a midprice ruck can become a +115ppg premium ruck, then you might as well take a midpricer on another line. The reasoning for this is that if your midpricer ruck doesn't become a premium, then they are a stepping stone and the window of opportunity to upgrade a ruck stepping stone is very small compared to other lines.
In the rucks, the number of available premiums to trade into is smaller than other lines. In the midfield for example, there are 10-15 players that you might want to trade a stepping stone into, so the chance of one of those players being at a reduced price when you want to make the trade is fair. In the rucks, there are only 2-3 players you might want to trade into, so the chance that one of those being at a reduced price when you want to trade is not good.
Additionally, if your midpricer fails, you are pretty much stuck for options in the ruck. In any other position, you have options for trading out a failed midpricer.
Edit: I will also add that if you are planning to upgrade your stepping stone to a full priced ruck (ie, their price hasn't dropped), then you might as well pay full price for that ruck at the start of the season and get all the points. Use a stepping stone on another line to get a cheap premium on that line instead.
