Took a screenshot so thought I'd post it here for any feedback.

Def. Obviously light here but don't want to pay up for the top guys as I feel they're overpriced or at their price point. Sort of forced into taking Daicos because of his high ownership. Yeo speaks for itself, Coffield should be expected to score/ave 68 to make him a worthwhile pick, not sold on Goater yet (could become Sheezel in the fwds depending on role) Ginbey, McKenna, Weddle and Wilmot should all make coin (if they all play of course)
Mids. Brayshaw at M4 should at least prove to be a serviceable M6, gone with Hopper and Sheed (same price) who with solid midfield minutes should each manage around 90 ave to make enough $ to flick them to Neale/Miller types with only 2 trades each. I've chosen Sheed over Fyfe because I think he'll have the better avenue to score, the consequence of that is dropping Green in favour of Taranto. I like Callaghan in the side and have invested heavily on bench players (might bite me on the bum by leaving good scores on the pine)
Rucks. Going with Darcy at R1, get the feeling that Jackson might help him have a bit more impact and maybe preserve his body a bit by taking some of the load.
Fwds. Loaded up here because I see value in all 4 premos (opposite to how I feel about Def. premos)

I guess the 3 or 4 risks that I'm taking are:

1. A weak defence. Counterbalanced by strong forwards and mids, cash generation is a big factor here too, as I see the better money makers down back and the higher priced rookies in the mids.

2. Running both Hopper and Sheed and requiring both to hit 90 to class them as successful.

3. Sean Darcy.

4. Investing quite deal on bench rookies and not maximising points on field. A couple of things with this, firstly is the sub rule where I'm trying to get players into the team that are not as risky of being subbed as against some of the other options, secondly, I can easily go down to a cheaper rookie if they present.

Anyway, have at it and tear it to shreds.

Hickey ay?...haven't seen him in many teams, turns 32 in a couple of weeks.
For me I'd be a bit scared to start a midfield with so many hopefuls in it, gutsy call there, I'd prefer to start with 4 there I know I won't have to replace barring injuries.

Defenders
I like Docherty the most of the premium defenders, nice role between midfield & half back. Have had Young in this spot for awhile & still keeping a close eye on him but Doch is a proven gun & just love the guy as a player, what he has recovered from is inspiring.

Daicos - just an elite talent with a great role, going to have a high ownership so almost have to pick him to safeguard yourself.

Yeo - lock at that price now that he is fully fit.

Ginbey/McKenna/Constable great roles - lucrative for scoring so happy to start them all. Wilmot & Weddle look great chances for round 1.

Midfielders
Laird/Oliver/Bont have been locked all preseason for me - these 3 I am very confident in, all proven super premiums.

Green - my boy this year! Screams breakout to me with the departures at GWS, trained midfield all preseason & in ripping nick. He will be the giants main inside bull this year & Leon is no longer there so no more rucking for Tom nor moved to fwd pocket or anywhere else on the field that doesn't suit him. Cheers for keeping his price down this year Leon (y)

Hopper - lock, everyone will have him.

Callaghan - new addition to my team based on the vision I have seen & his role. Great preseason, rave reviews about his junior career - this kid knows how to rack up big numbers. Looking fwd to seeing more of him the preseason games before completely sold on him but much to like.

Ashcroft & Phillips - locks, everyone will have them surely...

Baker I like as a bench option with him taking Hunter's spot on the wing, McVee looks to have taken Salem's spot to start the year - I like his def/mid classification on the bench to pair with Ginbey & Constable for coverage. Drury - proabably a real sub candidate but like his role in preseason games & at that price with fwd/mid classification it appeals.

Rucks
Ah the rucks....... what can I say - the biggest conundrum all preseason again

Marshall & Madden have been locked in from the start. I think I have looked at about 6 different rucks to fill the vacant spot. Grundy/English/Darcy/Cameron/Lycett have all been in at some stage - I was keen on Lycett but Port's ruck situation & the talk coming out of Port regarding their rucks makes it difficult to pick him with any confidence.

Witts is the clear standout as the main man with no ruck share issues. I saw some photos of him lately & it looks like he has lost some weight, looks very fit. He is overpriced but I think he is the safest guy to pair with Marshall. If he does go down then at least with his price point it gives a multitude of options to pick from unlike Lycett. His first 4 games are Sydney (Hickey), Essendon (Draper), Geelong (Stanley) & St Kilda (Marshall - who is great around the ground but not so much at centre bounces) so I can see him starting the season well with a solid midfield to benefit from his hitouts to advantage. The other factor is his round 13 bye that the suns & cats have so very handy during the bye rounds.

Forwards
I love all 4 of Dunkley/Cogs/Rozee/Taranto with their roles & preseason form - good chance they finish in the top 6 forwards this year so happy to start all 4.

McLean - lock, everyone has him.

Phillipou - he is the fwd rookie I have the most confidence in, happy to start him. Positive news from Ross regarding him - have read he has been pushing up to the wings to receive the ball/roaming around the fwd line. Kid looks an elite talent that racked up huge scores as a junior.

Greene looks to have taken Gunston's role, no Lewis early on so looks good for a few games. Davey getting good reports as a link man/ pushing to half fwd with the coaches wanting his teammates to use him.

Bring on the preseason games for further tinkering :ROFLMAO:

Great side, running a similar set-up except I've bypassed any of the $600k defenders for Young and am then running Macrae instead of Green. And rucks are different but who knows what we will end up with there.

Like your bullish thoughts on Green and think a similar rhetoric is around Kelly as well but find it so hard when judging these two as they both averaged more when Cameron was coach and had more CBA's during this time.

They are such a big watch for me this pre season and of course they only play the one practice game.

That is two prems different to my side (Dawson over Doch, Grundy over Witts) so it must be good @Shannon! 👍 (y)

After much tinkering this where currently sitting.

Def - Would much rather have stewart here over daicos but needed the extra $$ to get oliver in (who was brayshaw previously)

Mids - Flipping between Kelly and Parish atm.

Rucks - First year in many where not 100% sold on anyone so this where i have landed.

Fwd - Pushed 4 deep which doesnt leave alot of room. Tempted to drop taranto to ziebell

Pre preseason thoughts.

Yeo needs to come in as a defensive selection. Laird & Clarry come in as C/VC options. Taranto out & Cunnington in freed up the cash for Laird & Clarry. Well worth it.

Flanders looks my weak spot. Hopefully he can get a few kicks without Miller in the side & cement a solid midfield rotation early doors.

Lycett I envisage making money at his price until we can work out who's who along that line.

Flanders a definite risk. Plenty of hype around him, but sounded like he wasn't having much impact in their trial before Touk got injured. Did very well after that though.

Only needs to be their 4th mid to score very well for mine and looks like Swallow has stepped aside to allow that to happen, goal kicking mid/forward has some serious ceiling about it he's in my side currently.

He's a really awkward price for me but forward status is a benefit. All these $200k players really eat into my top premium levels. Such a fine line.
