I really like the look and balance of this team. Each line has a nice POD premium (Dale, Parish & Cunnington) and I've managed to limit the rooks on field with a handful of midpricers that I like. The midpricers I miss I should be able to trade for after Round 2 as I shouldn't need too many rookie corrections. It has a few captaincy options. Taranto (who I'm still not sold on) made his way into the side for Conigs as I needed the 50k. It's also nicely bye balanced for my current premiums.

I think I'm finally happy with my side.
Looks great

Wait for DPP and load up with 3 x $ 600k premiums in defence instead.

Dunkley + the forward midpricers + Allen/Sheezel/McLean might be the play.
Cunnington could possibly work just as well as a Cogs/Rozee/Taranto.

Personally keen on starting Ziebell (then move to defence) & Fyfe (stepping stone)

Powell v Bruhn or Flanders

Allen/Sheezel/McLean/King price type at F6.

Obviously a guessing game as to who gets F status added but they may all be better options aside from Dunkley.

Looks like we might have 8-12 rookie defender possibilities so maybe pump some $ in to the mids instead and get Ashcroft to M7/M8.

Aside from Baker , Chesser , Davey haven't really seen to many bench mid options so maybe Phillips @ M9.

Interesting

Ridley Daicos Yeo Ginbey McKenna Constable (Wilmot Cincotta)

Bont Cripps Steele Jelly Green Ashcroft Mackenzie Phillips (Baker Chesser Davey)

Darcy Marshall (Esava)

Dunkley Rozee Taranto Gulden Bruhn McLean (Greene S. Ryan)

A cheeky little 13 premium tinker in the name of science. Taking a lot of the value premiums to start. Don’t hate it…

21k bank.
Hmmmm, where have i seen that FWD line before.??

Must have walked back or got a very slow rickshaw , was their in 2010 😀

Nice huge stadium for the 4th Test , no problem getting a seat.

Been taking a break , suffering from looking at my team for too long syndrome , just start the bloody season already

Ash certainly didn't stay quiet for long.

Be interesting how Hopper goes with the Richmond game style.

Side not finalised yet , need to decide if I stick with Green @ M5 & Yeo @ D1 or lose one of my premium mids for Doc (or Cumming)

Rucks are locked :-

Darcy , Marshall / Madden

Forwards are locked :-

Dunkley , Rozee , Taranto , Ziebell , Fyfe , McLean / Ratugolea, Greene
Heard today there are more toilets floating around in space then there are for the 70'000 people expected to sit in the top level of the new big stadium in India.

It's actually nice to see something different (with Dale , Ridley , Petracca , Parish , Worpel & Cunnington).

Going through the pages I swear most teams have the same 22-25 players

11 players above $ 500k , 5 onfield Ashcroft & under.

Great balance

What the ?

Whole new meaning to flying.

Doubt I will ever get into space , having visited India once before they don't really worry about using toilets provided.

Big stadium looked very empty today on the TV , think they handed out lots of free tickets on Thursday for the PM's show

Thanks Herbie, welcome back, how was India? Haven't seen you post much recently, you're on stage now. 😁

It was NWM or Ash in the mids, waiting for Hopper to pick up another knee issue, so trying to stay ahead of the game, or outsmarting myself lol. Could you post your side? Interested to see how it's looking.
This is my Yeo @ D1 side

Yeo , Jones , Crozier (?) , Goater * , Cole , Constable * / McKenna (?) , Wilmot (?)

LAIRD , OLIVER , BONT , CRIPPS , GREEN , Hopper , Ashcroft , Ginbey * / Mackenzie , Phillips , Davey *

DARCY , MARSHALL / Madden *

DUNKLEY * , ROZEE * , TARANTO * , Ziebell , Fyfe * , McLean * / Ratugolea * , Greene

Bank : $ 143,200.00 (could go Crozier - > Ash)

Hopefully 10-4-8

8 might be too many to start and will probably mean about 12 downgrades to upgrade them all so that's 20 trades.

Doubt everyone (playing) on my bench will rise by that magical $ 150k.

Maybe another 3-4 downgrades (will we even get quality 2nd/3rd tier rookies making enough cash ?) to get enough cash for the 4 midpricers + Green so that's another 8-9 trades.

Will need to sit down and work it all out roughly if I need $ 550k for D (maybe closer to $ 600k) & F premiums (Gawn & Petracca could be closer to $ 600k) & $ 600-625k for mid upgrades if it is all feasible.

Nice team, risky backline, not sure how well Fyfe and Ziebell produce. Good to see you have cashola for possible corrections. Strong mid and rucks. 😁

Cheers

I do like my mids & rucks.

Both Fyfe & Ziebell are stepping stones so hopefully last long enough to prove worthwhile.

Defence could well be the problem , but that's where the rookies look like being.

Probably need a Docherty or Dawson to start but don't want to lose a premium mid.

Maybe Rozee & Taranto - > Cunnington & ? possibly gets me enough dollars to upgrade Crozier.

On a side note just saw Duursma was $ 282,300.00 , defining season ahead for him.

Hi All,
After a little more tinkering here is my team for round 1 ( rookies on bench May change)

Keen to hear any feedback on the team, any thoughts on changes…

have gone 3 premiums in Defense….have considered strongly Liam Jones so that I could strengthen the forward line with Bruyn….
Also not spending On the top tier rucks until we see the trends with the new sub rule…have a feeling the rucks will be the ones to come out of the game to get more speed…

@Professor

What do you think of my Green @ M1 side ?

DOCHERTY , DAWSON , RIOLI , Yeo , Cole , Ginbey * / Constable * , Wilmot

GREEN , Cunnington * , Ash , Hopper , Fyfe * , Bruhn * , Callaghan , Ashcroft / Mackenzie , Phillips , Baker

DARCY , MARSHALL / Madden *

DUNKLEY * , ROZEE * , TARANTO * , Gulden * , Ziebell * , Flanders * / Ratugolea * , Green

Bank : $ 25,700.00

Docherty , Dawson , Dunkley , Darcy & Green as VC/C options

9-10-3

Heap of trades to use this year , but the more important thing is will we actually have enough viable downgrade targets during the season to generate the dollars to utilise them fully.

Like the Rioli pick, you're probably limiting your vc/c options going light in the mids, I'd prefer 3 mid premiums. In terms of rookie structures, there's probably a case on all lines. If you spread the risk over most lines, you don't leave yourself open to injuries or being dropped.

Very true.

Will more than likely go back to Laird/Oliver , Bont , Cripps by the start although Cripps , Parish & Steele are probably the 3 "value" mids to start.

Be damn hard trying to get all of Laird , Miller , Neale & Oliver in though.

See where the rookies land when teams are announced and go from their , should be enough (what they score and what their JS is like is yet to be determined).

Plenty of mid pricers available.

First share here. I’m probably one premium short in the ideal setup for this year but with some rearranging and cash in store I could fit someone up to Stewart down back. I still have lots of questions up forward with mid-price players, their roles, sub potential for Bruhn because of so many possibilities at Geelong, what scoring potential for Fyfe because he is fit, no shoulder strapping, but faces a one out role at full forward? Any way please pull apart the team currently starting. Heaps problems getting an image of the team here using an iPad. Please let me know if you can’t see an image.

Appreciate the welcome from you all, glad I caught some forum vets somewhat by surprise with a couple of head-scratcher picks. Admittedly Cadman, Howes and Wardlaw were some "sleeper" POD bench picks sponsored by Jock Reynolds, Sporting News Aus and Honeyball. You're right in that I didn't take ownership% into consideration as much as most of you here.

Greatly appreciate the write up Eagling, likewise Vicwood. I haven't managed a Supercoach team in over 10 years, but have mostly kept up with the league, so the tips help out a lot.

You've all got me second guessing Vlastuin - I believe Tigger will trend upwards this year. I was actually torn between him and Rioli based on one; price, two; his durability, and three; the idea that our backline should be applying more pressure keeping the ball up front for Lynch, Bolton, Riewoldt, Dusty and the rest of the frontend - hence more disposals. Or.. maybe I just wanted more yellow and black.. haha

I was most concerned about my midfield, glad you called it out for what it was.

I've made some changes based on everyone's advice (attached screenshot of both teams below, new and old respectively):
- FWD: Hobbs out. Fyfe shifted over. Hopeful for King to play next week, will keep a close eye. Cadman dropped for Greene.
- DEF: Gonna stack on Saad in replacement of Vlastuin/Rioli, there's going to be a lot of action in Carlton's back-half. Crozier and McKenna to start. Ginbey benched but I believe in that single anonymous Rising Star-to be vote he got.
- MID: Bont and Hopper in, I'm sorta embarrassed I didn't have the latter in already lol.
- RUC: Zilch. I'm doubling down on Draper. Unlike you lot, I haven't lived the underwhelming experience, and I'm a glutton for punishment in fantasy/supercoach. Love a good risk, evidently. :p

I've now managed to bank just under $200K at the cost of 8 less round one projected points, despite how insignificant that measure can be. Let me know what you guys think, should I make use of all this spare coin?

Made some changes since my last post:
- I've decided I'm risking too much in the forward line.
- I'm not trusting Crozier to make strides.
- I'm afraid of Oliver being tagged hard over the first 3 games

DEF: Docherty, Saad, Ridley, Yeo, Ginbey, Constable // McKenna, Cincotta
MID: Oliver->Laird, Bont, Green, Hopper, Callaghan, Ashcroft, Mackenzie, Phillips // Baker, Davey, Phillipou
RUC: Marshall, Draper // Ratugolea
FWD: Dunkley, Rozee, Taranto, Allen->Ziebell, Fyfe, Flanders // Sheezel, Greene

supercoach-team3.PNG

Risks: two MID premo start and banking on Draper breakout

Should I try to squeeze Neale in the MID at the cost of two mid-pricers? Should I consider Setterfield at all? My concern is real lol

The issue with picking Draper is there are no bailout options if he inevitably fails (I wouldn’t be banking on Rat saving the day at R3 either)

I would be dropping one of your premium defenders to fund the upgrade to a true premium ruck

Rest of your side looks solid
