Some wise boffins hereabouts recommended not starting with any loopholes, but with 30 green dots, because come round 2 we will most likely have our non-playing loophole regardless.
Well for those of us who ignored such sage advice and now have extra unplanned loopholes coming into round 2 and likely beyond, is it worth considering trading out Madden at R3 and bringing in Ratugolea this round and letting him slow burn away?
Is some potential earnings from the now unutilized R3 worth the trade or is it too late?
I'd wait and see, I've got Rat and I'm toying with the idea of trading him out depending on what Combens role is at the Kangas. Looks a better scoring option at $50k less with possible ruck time shared with Goldy - but it's a wait and see for me

Id be hesitant to use a correction trade on Phillips, already been left out of the starting 22 once, have to question how much better money making capacity he has over the guy you are trading surely.
I did say maybe Phillips, would need to start the next two games, but his role is one of the best of all the other rookies.

I think you made the right call starting Madden - the extra 72K you get owning him over Ratugolea is gold for correction trades next week.

Esava really needs to be averaging 65+ to be worth it at his price.
He just played a game where he won 6 coaches votes and could still only manage a 55. Not ideal.

Won't comment on the merits of a Madden/Rat trade but I think Rats first game had plenty of merit. Most importantly the coach thought his game was excellent and said so in the post game presser. That strengthens JS (especially with Stewart out) which spins off into self confidence and possibly higher SC scores. Not every team he plays will suit the role he has. However he is the only cheap ruck bench option that can cover one of your premo rucks missing a week and could easily make $130k plus by round 7.

Completely agree! Also managed to rack up 6 coaches votes! Same as Daicos & Cheezel haha

He got 1 whole coaches vote for every touch he got!
What a player!

Sav battled away reasonably well across the 4 quarters but being classified as basically 2nd best on ground is a bit ridiculous.

Agreed. My dad a mad Geelong supporter said it was absolutely ridiculous. Yes he was okay with De Koning and Stewart off but they conceeded 125 points and not that stats matter that much but being the 2nd best on ground HAS to be more than 6 disposals, 4 marks, multiple dropped marks and conceeding 125 points.

He had:

6 Disposals (4 contested)
4 Marks (2 contested)
5 Rebound 50's
4 Clangers
3 Free Kicks Against

mmm, so what your saying is there is still a chance...clean up the clangers and free kicks (round 1 cobwebs) and we're looking at an 80-90 player, interesting, very interesting. Against a weak Carlton forward line he could go huge and be a round 3 bubble bob...the list keeps getting longer!

A forward line containing the last two Coleman medallists is described as weak.

I hope that was tongue in cheek sarcasm.

Or he could get a 20, and get dropped for Jake Kolodjashnij :D

Chandler will essentially be against Bruce for a spot. (God I wish I'd had the balls to E Bruhn instead...)

What do you take? Really like Bruce's matchup but Chandler is scoring well!
