My team is pretty set, I have 22 keeper level players, but my biggest weak point by far is M8 where Steele just hasn't worked at any point this season. Poor guy is clearly not 100% and is 20+ PPG off the pace.

Currently have 6 trades and 73K in the kitty so I have a bit of room to move. Trying to solve this in 1 trade leaves a lot to be desired, Keays is probably my best bet out of that group with a consistent role change that is working well for his scoring. Mills is also an option, especially given that he is needed in the midfield for at least the next few weeks.

Otherwise I'm looking at trying to free up some cash to a base price rookie to give myself the juice to get a Rozee/Parish/Brayshaw level guy who I have a lot more confidence in their role being sustainable.

sweet FA cover sounds bad. who will you have.

I dont think Rowell to Mills is much difference in performance, although it helps Sheezel upgrade. 2 trades for maybe 40 points per week. Ok without being significant.
Sitting with Cincotta, Fletcher, and that’s about it barring some rookie miracles. I’m going to cop some donuts on the way in at some stage. I could go Sheezel straight to Ryan, Doch, Ridley, Houston using on 1 trade. May be the better option and save a trade.

Yeo to Himmelberg or Hurn?

Himmelberg doesn't seem to be an injury risk & frees up 90k for injury trade 'upgrades'

Hurn has a recent scoring history and could go huge from here out if he stays fit. Should see plenty of footy.
If Hurn can stay on the park I would take him as a POD, gives you a great alternative on the way home as Himmelberg in my opinion is a fake premium

With 6 trades left, definitely upgrade to the best mid available. Ie one up one down

That's what I've been thinking too, although Himmelberg still found enough footy on the weekend in a game that didn't suit scoring for key position players and he still scored 84.

Hurn's PPM has been crazy great the last handful of games.

In the end, it'll come down to my levels of greed & I think I know which way that'll end up going.

HH had 11 turnovers which hurt his score from 28 touches. If he plays a similar role and cleans up his disposal he should score well.

With the prospect of upcoming carnage, and the likely loss of Fyfe and Dunkley this week I think I'll end up saving the trade and just do Fyfe and Ashcroft to Mills and the best <394k M or M/F. Maybe JHF, Thomas, Liam Henry, Sheldrick, Flanders? They will become my F7, D9/10 swing if Dunkley and Oliver are both playing and Mills will "complete my team" with a bunch of faux premos and 4 trades left.

Ok i can already guess how others will respond to this BUT

I have 20 premos (including Day, Lloyd and Dcam)

$170k ITB

Anndd 12 trades

Should i go with my initial plan and just keep downgrading rookies to build the bank and then go all at once to get the last few upgrades or do i fix Day and continue down that path of 1 up 1 down?

You're in a great spot. Don't see why you wouldn't just stick with your plan. You have clearly taken a different approach to the majority on here, and with 8 rounds left you are in a great spot. By sticking with your plan if a few popular types get injured on the run home you'll be in a good position to cash in big time.

But what would I know, I'm sitting in no mans land with a garbage team and not enough trades (even though top 30% according to the poll!)

I have 5 trades and 2 upgrades with little cash. Fyfe out. I'll need to trade one of Johnson, Wardlaw and Sheldrick to get cash for the upgrade. If someone could share their breakevens that would be appreciated.

I'm hoping I can get enough cash to single trade one of the other next week to J Cameron.

So Fyfe plus one to Cuningham and Cripps.
Then other to Cameron next week. I'll need rookie to make Cameron to lose ~70k

Which player out of Fogarty and Cunningham has the better job security? Looking at doing just the 1 trade this week of Fyfe to either of these players and bank $150k.

Davey & Johnson - 117k M/F & Himmelberg looking very likely. HH gets the job as 23rd man for the season and a debut to cover Dunk this week. Only leaves 3 trades so hope the injuries stop soon.

Not much choice here with only 3 trades left, Fyfe at F6 and Dunkley out (along with Yeo and Warner)

Fyfe > Himmelberg as the only trade

Fielding:

Maric for Dunks
Johnson for Warner
Mitchell for Yeo

God help me if there's any more injuries this week as my bench cover is down to zero.
