Missing Ndaicos, Chandler, LDU, Ziebell, Bowes next week.

Need to move on Bruhn, possibly Darcy
Willing to sacrifice, Chesser, Greene, Allen.

Darcy role with Jackson in team has looked horrible. If he doesnt go this week will lose cash. Is he likely to avg 110 - I dont see it at the moment. Options are English, Cameron or could punt on Flynn as short term option as well. Flynn has good role if he stays no 1 ruck. Able to score as single ruck out generate points and cash for a trade come byes.

Ridley>Daicos Darcy>Cameron/Flynn Bruhn>LDU +72.7K
or
Ridley>Daicos, Bruhn>LDU, Hopper Chandler via MF +182K for Bowes following week.

I am leaning with option 2 as could still do Darcy>Cameron the following week and be able to grab Bowes as well.
Not sure bringing in Daicos is right move. I know it hurts to miss him and watch his score each week. But how will brining him in get me closer? It stops me getting further away and aligns me with everyone else.

Are they other options I should be considering?

Flanders > Chandler makes sense to me, if I do grab Ziebell, I'll need the $$$ from somewhere.
I think in all likelihood I'll go Cumming > Daicos as my other trade.
These two trades and Hopper > Ziebell and grab Hopper back next week?:LOL:

Hopper out this week does open up some options, but best case scenario he misses more than 1 week (unlikely) to justify moving him out and back in.

Honestly if there was a way of crunching the numbers over the years my guess would be that in this situation (i.e round 3),
that the people who keep trading in and restructure for all the really popular players going well (mainly midpricers and rookies) end up having a much better year than those who worry about being behind early and purposely go for POD selections to try and be different for difference sakes.
Either you are betting that the leading teams by round 3 are fluking it with a bunch of ''fools gold'' players,
or you admit they are on the right track and concede your wrong decisions and hop aboard.
Would love to know where some of the winners have been placed after a couple of rounds.

I'm 600 off the leader but love the look of my side after trades. I need to claw back 30 points a week from here which is a lot.

If you're set on fading NDaicos then an option could be Darcy, Bruhn & Chesser to DCameron, LDU & Chandler; Allen to Bowes next week. LDU could be NDaicos if you change your mind.

With Hopper missing this round, you could consider Darcy, Bruhn & Chesser to DCameron, Ziebell & Setterfield to sure up your MID cover.

If you're considering trading Hopper, then maybe something like: Hopper, Bruhn & Allen to LDU, Ziebell & Chandler.

Ridley, Bruhn & Allen to NDaicos, Setterfield & Ziebell could always be worth a look.

Either way, there's lots of option and variation on the outs & ins depending on your combination of players.

Write down all the different combinations of trade and go with the one that best suited your team and plan going forward.

I quite like this (not the 300-400 points behind part).
Forcing people to play catch up means more creative team choices to try and make up ground.
As you say, picking the same players just means you hold station behind those in front.
That is true, however 400 points equates to 20 points per round to make up. With shrewd captain choices and getting the right rookie scores it can be made up for. Plus it only takes an injury to one popular player that you don't have that can help swing things back in your favour. I'm about 560 points from the leader, but haven't given it away just yet. ;)

And this is where finding a real POD comes into play. I often get the impression coaches pick a player thinking they are a POD because no one else has them. But that really does not mean much. For mine to be a POD a player must not only be one few people have but they need to outscore a comparative player or score the same but have some other advantage. Or you have correctly picked that the comparative player will be popular but will become a fail.

Not sure Ridley is in your top 3 issues there.

Bruhn > Setterfield
Allen > Ziebell
Darcy > English

Is that possible on the $ front?

Cameron a solid alternative if not.

Yeah I'm having doubts on Doc > Daicos. After all my boosting, Setterfield might be out of reach too. Only way I can get him, Daicos and ZB is to trade down Doc and Macrae. I'm ok with trading Macrae but have doubts on letting Doc go just yet. Can't afford Setters, ZB and Daicos by booting only Macrae so have to make a choice on who to trade in.

Not a whole lot demanding fixing in all that if you don't mind the mid price stuff. Cowan, Baker, Chesser and Flanders could do with corrections. I'm ok with keeping Cowan D8 and Baker (can score better than he is)

So if Macrae to Daicos is ok, I can move Constable to the mids, leaving Richards, Ginbey and McKenna as my D4-6. It means Pou, Constable or Flanders will be playing M8 which isn't ideal.

So I can fix M8 for a bit by adding either ZB or Setterfield (via Pou) for Flanders. I lean towards ZB because ZB is a fair chance of keeper status either forward or back and if not, a D/F supersub capable of hitting hundreds would be a pretty powerful piece of the puzzle. It also means I can leave my M/F link in place.

Chesser > Hollands is the rookie I'm most interested in at the moment. Noah Long has the lower entry price but a far worse draw and the Carlton kid has the slightly higher ceiling IMV if he has to fill in on field so he gets the nod.

So Macrae, Flanders and Chesser > Daicos, Ziebell and Hollands. Gives me potentially an extra keeper, strengthens my backs and really fixes my bench up

You can’t be trading out Docherty when you’ve got Hayden Young and Ed Richards in your team. Let’s be serious for a second.

It's a pity the play so often on a Sunday instead of Friday. He's a good premium to loop. Is this week the week he sinks your league game? No? Cool, let's take his 150.

Better than having the chance of another 65 from him hanging over your weekend.
After this round, Freo are scheduled to play again on Sunday.

Darcy > D Cam
Pedlar > Ziebell
Steele > Setterfield (hold Finn C)

Vs

Pedlar > Ziebell/ D Cam (both ok funds-wise)
Callaghan > Worpel
Steele > Setandforgetterfield (hold Darcy)

First one abandons two premo positions, second one abandons two higher priced 'rookies' and locks me in, at least temporarily, to deathspiral Darcy, but strengthens on-field point production, plugs all shakiest gaps.

Can't grab English unfortunately - unless I chop Marshall, which doesn't seem like a smart move. Curious on your thoughts - I might save the boost and just grab Cameron and McKenna, axing Dale and Chesser and leaving McVee to Bowes for next week.
I agree re Marshall and English.

I would likely hold fire on McVee to Bowes, given Bowes isn’t on the bubble. McVee could make a bit of cash this week and could even turn things around and be worth holding longer term (unlikely but possible).

The main benefit as I see it is another round of info on Bowes’ role, fitness and scoring. Something like Hopper to JHF looked like a pretty good trade a week ago and I suspect almost noone would be doubt it this week (unless Hopper misses through injury). The info is quite valuable, especially at this stage of the season. I think it’s worth forgoing a few points on ground this round for that info. If it was 30+ points and you wanted to be aggressive/you were confident on Bowes, that seems okay to me.

My ranking went from 18k to 57k after a 2,010 in round to

Current team:

Docherty, Cumming, Ridley, Gibney, McKenna, Constable (Cowan, Wilmot)
Bontempelli, Petracca, Horne-Francis, Hopper, Worpel, Callaghan, Ashcroft, Mackenzie (Chesser, Bytel, Baker)
Darcy, Marshall (Madden)
Dunkley, Gulden, Taranto, Rozee, Bruhn, Sheezel (Phillipou, Rategulea)

Playing a straight bat is not going to get me anywhere and I need points on field.

Planned Trades:

Ridley, Chesser, Bruhn -> Dacios, Setterfield, Ziebell

Means I miss Chandler and Hollands, but if I don't make some points back, the season will be over.

Any further thoughts?
Looks good to me.

Your midfield is getting quite mid pricey, but upgrading should be quite easy when the time comes.

Darcy to English, instead of the defence switch, could be another option.

Another is to grab Chandler, bank the cash, and use that to get Daicos later. Hollands is handy but not required in my view.

Going to keep it simple and go Docherty, Callaghan and Ratugolea to LDU, D Cameron and Setterfield. Hopefully Docherty doesn't punish me whilst his price is dropping. Leaves me with $126.9k in the bank, potentially target Ziebell next week.

Duncan listed as a test this week, Stewart 2-3 weeks. That would be my concern.
