Strategy 2023: Round 3 Trades

My though is hopper is not a keeper, im going to have to upgrade him eventually to a premo why not now.

Worth keeping for the round 3 and 4 return on investment. Then flip if he doesn't continue to impress

toss a coin I reckon. Hard to see Chesser ever scoring well this year so will lean towards trading him.

Change of plans with Cameron replacing Coniglio as the third in. Once again have an injured midfielder so one of O Baker, J Bytel or M Phillipou will be fielded to cover Hopper.

Can go anyone under $250k. Callaghan is the easy choice but... what about Mitch Owens at the same price? 76 and 97 to start the year. Can he keep it up or are those flukes?

I think he is capable of going at 80+ but probably more unlikely than likely but could still be a good POD. The one I'd go for is Liam Stocker. Looks to have a good role back there and should score well.

Yeah I actually think he might be my preferred option. I'm reading Saints fans saying he might get some midfield time with Steele out as well. Not a very inspiring trade-in but should average 75-80 and make decent coin. Leaves me enough money to also go Jones > Bowes next week if Bowes kills it again.

Have we come to a consensus around Constable V Chesser as an out this week? Personally leaning toward keeping Chesser and praying for a spike. Can’t see Constable getting back in short term and might provide a valuable downgrade later on.

Have been unable to keep up with news this week so leaning on common opinion for this one a bit.

Long term Chesser is a good rookie to keep. He's part of WC future and should meander to 100-150k profit.
Uwland had his shot while a few senior sun's were injured and didn't do much. He may not get back in the 1s until next year.

I have done something similar, foregoing my initial plan of bringing in Setterfield and saving the cash to go Cameron to English next week. I think it all depends on whether you have a clear and viable route to raise the necessary cash next week for your preferred ruck replacement. If you can find a way that doesn't undermine your team then stick with your preferred trades, if, like me, you can't see that, then reverse them.

That was my initial thought, just got distracted by something shiny.

I’m thinking of reversing the Callaghan to Setterfield trade (and perhaps grabbing Chandler for Chesser) to (just) give me enough money next week to do the Cameron to English trade. Still keeping the Bruhn to Ziebell trade. Good luck with whatever you decide.
