Anyone holding Callaghan? Had a couple bad games but will get a game every week and can easily turn it around. Shoulder obviously affected him but hopefully realised now that he is ok to take contact etc. Just not really seeing much to trade him too that make it worth a trade. Im leaning towards backing him in and adjusting in a week or two.

Going to do the same (got bigger problems to patch up) but if Hollands (or maybe Phillips) gets a fieldable score he's the one coming off. Can't trust him over Mackenzie at the moment.

Agree. Though I just realised I don't have enough cash to trade Chesser to Phillips, so may end up trading him after all. Ill have to have a think about it.

I'm culling him. He's only there in my team to generate cash which looks problematic atm.
His BE is 69 and his 101 is about to drop out, so unless he starts getting 100's again his cash gen has basically stalled or worse, is about to go backwards.

Not sure yet. I have Hollands E into him currently.
I either trade him to a Buckley/Bowes type which is unlikely, trade to a rookie (probably Hewett or JVR) or hold which allows me to take another look at Pickett (would need Callaghan to go 60 to afford him).
I think the kids going to be a star, but that shoulder is very clearly affecting him. I also think he got a bit unlucky throughout the game. Stuff like not getting used, play being on the other wing, which means room for improvement.

His 101 has already dropped out.

Those wing position players are either feast or famine unfortunately. Him and Hollands pretty much on the same wing last week, both had reasonable first quarters (Hollands great, think Callaghan was around 15-20 points), then basically never saw the ball again.

I agree cash is super important, but not every player can be traded at the same time, so sometimes the job security factor and even a slow burner (which I hope he isn't and just a bad couple of weeks), can actually be useful for upgrading your team. Having said that, I'm on the fence about downgrading him to Phillips for the cash generation.

I am at the moment, he's sitting on the bench. If I was going to trade him it would be to Phillips and then only for the cash generation. I already have all the main cash generators, already used 7 trades so need to be a bit more sensible 😲 Also we have the two forward rookies coming in next week if they score well this weekend.

Anyone whose defence is a bit wobbly still trading in Buckley despite first price rise? I only have 2 premo defenders and have both Constable and Chesser back there. Can go Callaghan out, Chesser down to mids, and either Bows or Buckley in. I'm assuming Bowes will be named, but won't know till Carlton's game started (Cowan). Buckley has been good, so leaning towards him.
I'm holding for a couple of rounds, can swing Sheezel back in Rd 6 and have focused on other lines instead. D6 is Cowan after Constable and Chesser dropped out, but the rest of the line is scoring well enough to not be too concerned, even with a few other cheap players in there (McKenna and Ginbey). No Ziebell, but he would help things in Rd 6 too.

Might change next round though, Daicos is looking a must this year and is unlikely to get cheaper. Should have done it three times already...

I'm planning to trade him to Chandler who is currently listed on the extended bench. If he misses out then holding the trade for a week to see if either of the rookies are viable is also an option.

I bit the bullet and traded Cumming to Daicos last wee.

I'm holding Constable. Every year I trade out a guy like him, he comes back later in the season and burns me.
He seems to be going backwards though, went from in the team, (actually played alright i thought and watched him closely due to SC), to emergency, to not even emergency this week. He dominated the VFL all last year and they never gave him a game. So i dont think playing well in the VFL will get him back in. Dew doesnt seem to rate him. The only way he gets back in IMO is if they have 3 or 4 injuries to their half-backs.

Hmmm food for thought, thanks for that, do you reckon it's better to keep Chesser and punt Constable then?

I've got Chesser and Constable so it makes sense to move one of them on. As much as Chesser would be a useful floating donut with no risk of him being the sub for 4-6 weeks, there's no point carrying both him and Constable. Will hold Constable and probably trade Chesser to Phillips. The fact that Phillips holds his spot with Simpkin and LDU back is a pretty good sign but I'm still not convinced on his JS. I recall reading comments on here(?) about Clarko loving him but it'd be good to get a source on that.

The main reason to hold Constable is his BE. If he does get a another game, he's gonna make some cash which could come in handy. He may be on the outer with Dew but given the Gold Coast won last week, Dew would have been hard pressed to drop anyone from that back line. Looks like the only non-injury omission was Farrar. Sexton was the sub.
