Best not to conflate rash decision making and lack of strategic planning with luck.
Those that started Edwards would have likely done so with the plan of a one round rental to then flick to a four game player in RD2 rather than holding for another three before he has a fortnight of fours. One quarter of play is not indicative of the remainder of the round and is scoring is not at a constant rate, so it doesn’t really matter what the quarter by quarter breakdowns are. Poor strategic planning on their behalf if they had not given sufficient consideration to the risk associated with chasing players on the max amount of games just for the sake of it rather than perhaps holding a three game player or two that has the ability to outscore them.
Hard to be sympathetic for those that make overly emotional or highly reactive trades such as trading out Johnson or trading in Tatum by chasing lost points or going pod for pod sake and so on. Should be well aware of the potential risk associated and whether it fits their risk profile and a lack of consideration of the downsides in comparison to the upsides. One game doesn’t make the round so best to reassess towards the end of the round.

Goes to locker room Tuesday
Doncic went back to the locker room after sustaining an injury to his right leg with 1:10 remaining in the second quarter of Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Doncic was unable to run back on defense before scoring on the fast break. He then asked to be subbed out of the game before limping to the locker room. The superstar seemed to be unable to put any weight on his right leg after Jaden McDaniels collided with the back of his knee. If Doncic is unable to return, Jaden Hardy and Spencer Dinwiddie are candidates for an increased role.

The NBA fantasy is by far the most luck based of them all because of the resting roulette that you ride and not having any ability to fix it if you do get bad luck.
I imagine it would have been better back when the players actually showed up every night, obviously it didn't exist that long ago though.
I do think the format would be much better if they did something to correct for that factor. Plenty of ways to do it, easiest would just be that your emergency fills in for missed games instead of requiring them to miss every game. So Quickley last week would be covered by **** for the 2 missed games for example. Not sure why they don't do it to be honest. Other options are you have x minutes to fill for each starting spot during the week and can rotate players through it (this one also addresses the uneven game weeks so don't have to trade out in form players just because they have a game less in a week), rolling lockout (too much, imo) and I'm sure there's more ways.
I'm pretty convinced my SG1 spot isn't going to get past 20 this season for a game week after Quickley into Daniels
