Hope he isn't, I'd prefer as few forward locks as possible, feel like a huge part of why this season was so boring was all the absolute locks up forward. Much prefer when we have some kind of variety.

Ditto for defense.

We're all going to end up with the same teams with infinite trades anyway so may as well at least make the path there a bit different for everyone!

Can anyone help me out with my query of, around what date do you think Supercoach will open for 2024 season? I can't remember if it was late December/early January for the 2023 season?

I normally tinker with my team around Christmas, so I’ll say Dec. Someone may be able to recall more precisely.

When will the AFL release the fixture for next season, sometime shortly after the draft isn't it?

Hayden Young burned me this year, but seemed to go alright at the end (long after I traded him out). Anyone giving him a 2nd chance in 2024?
Not an owner last year in classic (keeper league owner since his debut) but I would place little to no weight on a perceived “burn” from a player when considering selections unless you want to intentionally decrease the talent pool and opt for a less desirable option due to a bad experience.

Largely comes down to whether you think he represents value, can lift to another level and has the ceiling early on to match other similarly priced options. If you are cautious due to last season, then the best course of action would be to wait until he dips to a price range you feel more comfortable about.

Very hard to ignore Hayden Young's form once he kicked O'Meara out of the CBA rotations.

Came home with a 4 game average of 116 and will be priced at 94.

Small sample size but if Freo show that their preferred on-ball rotation is Serong, Brayshaw and Young then will be very hard to leave out.

Also likely that we lose Daicos and Dawson as defenders as they are listed as midfielders on AFL website stats page (not sure how reliable this is).

Definitely on the list, midfield role to end the season and scored very well in it. They desperately need a good big bodied midfielder so huge chance, that he's an elite ball user is a huge bonus on that.

Only concern was he did a bit of tagging in that role so will want to hear more if that's going to happen.

Probably depends how much fully fit footy Fyfe and JOM can get through next year, if the CBA's drop away I find it hard to see the pick working.

I’m hearing that season 2024 will commence with a “Round Zero” where only 8 teams play and that will be followed by Round 1 where all teams play. Something to do with Byes for the initial 8 teams sometime later in the season 🤔
If true, we had better buckle up because it could be a bumpy ride 😅

Don’t mind the idea however it is horrible for SuperCoach. It may get worse depending on how they give the round zero playing teams a week off down the track. It would have to be early on in the season I would think.

To make a SuperCoach negative into a positive I would suggest giving everybody a free hit at round zero selecting a team from players from just the teams involved and then give everybody unlimited trades to set up the their starting team for round 1. That would be good fun I reckon.
