This is what I'm running with heading into Round 2:

S. Iyer, Patidar and 230k loop to Rahman, Omarzai and Dhir,

Kohli VC for tonight's game, if Bairstow cooks or Kohli goes big I'll likely hold off on 230k loop to Dhir trade and figure something else, open to any advice as I'm not big Cricket guy
Thinking is sound , like you said just need to be react to any bench scores that need taking and make adjustments where necessary.

I may actually not trade at all.

Current setup for round 2:

Of my 13 playing, the ones where I'm least confident in the role are Curran and Maxwell. Unfortunately, they both play tonight! Hardik also very much on notice but they could all completely flip this round.

There's also not hugely compelling options to move them to... at least, that play this round! Narine and Russell very much on the radar as ins but obviously no sense in pulling that trigger now.
A few options that might be worth considering?

Patidar => better cash cow
Maxwell => Green (better role last game, lower BE)
Donut => Narine (get a headstart on next round and save a trade)

Time for an analysis I did last year. I know it's kind of hard to keep up with the games seeing as how they start at midnight for most of us - really all we can do is look at the scorecards, and maybe some highlights, to see what the roles look like.

Most of the time you're looking at players batting in the top three of their teams, or death bowlers who generally get the lion's share of the wickets. I'll also include any notable all-rounder roles, as well as rookie priced players ($350k or less).

CSK
Top 3: Gaikwad, Ravindra, Rahane
19th/20th over: Mustafizur, Deshpande
Impact Player sub: Mustafizur out, Dube in
Allrounders: Jadeja batted 6 and bowled 4, Ravindra did not bowl
Cheapies: Mustafizur ($350k, 110), Dhoni ($350k, 44)

RCB
Top 3: Kohli, Faf, Patidar
19th/20th over: Siraj, Joseph (chase ended in 19th over)
Impact Player sub: Karthik out, Yash Dayal in
Allrounders: Maxwell batted 4 and bowled one over, Green batted 5 and bowled 3 overs
Cheapies: Rawat ($350k, 73), Dayal ($350k, 25)

DC
Top 3: Warner, Marsh, Hope
19th/20th over: Khaleel, Sumit (Ishant injured)
Impact Player sub: Bhui out, Porel in
Allrounders: Marsh opened and bowled 4, Axar batted 7 and bowled 4
Cheapies: Porel ($290k, 57)

PBKS
Top 3: Dhawan, Bairstow, Prabhsimran
19th/20th over: Arshdeep, Harshal
Impact Player sub: Arshdeep out, Prabhsimran in
Allrounders: Curran batted 4 and bowled 1 over, Livingstone batted 6 and did not bowl
Cheapies: Brar ($350k, 64), R Chahar ($350k, 37)

KKR
Top 3: Salt, Narine, V Iyer
19th/20th over: Starc, H Rana
Impact Player sub: Ramandeep out, Suyash in
Allrounders: Russell batted 6 and bowled 2 overs, Narine opened and bowled 4 overs
Cheapies: Ramandeep ($350k, 84)

SRH
Top 3: Abhishek, Agarwal, Tripathi
19th/20th over: Bhuvneshwar, Natarajan
Impact Player sub: Natarajan out, Abhishek in
Allrounders: Shahbaz batted 7 and bowled 1 over
Cheapies: Shahbaz ($350k, 36)

LSG
Top 3: Rahul, QDK, Padikkal
19th/20th over: Naveen, Mohsin
Impact Player sub: Yash Thakur out, Hooda in
Allrounders: Krunal batted 8 and bowled 4 overs, Stoinis batted 7 and did not bowl
Cheapies: Hooda ($350k, 51), Mohsin ($350k, 25)

RR
Top 3: Jaiswal, Buttler, Samson
19th/20th over: Sandeep, Avesh
Impact Player sub: Hetmyer out, Burger in
Allrounders: Ashwin did not bat (likely 7) and bowled 4 overs
Cheapies: Jurel ($350k, 81), Parag ($350k, 58), Burger ($350k, 37)

GT
Top 3: Saha, Gill, Sudharsan
19th/20th over: Johnson, Umesh
Impact Player sub: Sudarshan out, Mohit in
Allrounders: Omarzai batted 4 and bowled 3 overs
Cheapies: Omarzai ($350k, 67), Umesh ($350k, 50), Tewatia ($350k, 49), Kishore ($350k, 45)

MI
Top 3: Rohit, Kishan, Dhir
19th/20th over: Bumrah, Coetzee
Impact Player sub: Wood out, Brevis in
Allrounders: Hardik batted 7 and bowled 3 overs
Cheapies: Dhir ($230k, 57), Brevis ($350k, 51)
This is extremely helpful, thanks very much Mike.

Key targets for me on this basis: Green, Omarzai, Rahman (Fizz), and Narine next round. Also like Samson but Will slew towards cash gen early.

Maxy => Green (role, cash gen)
Bairstow => Fizz (cash gen, Bairstow unappealing looping draw vs Rahul and Pant)
Mumbai non-donut => Omarzai (fixes problem and gets a player with great potential role and cash gen).

166k cash.

Rabada was an out originally, but his stats look good so Bairstow makes way instead.

I would be extremely surprised if they dropped him (Mustafizur) after 4 wickets , but Pathirana has arrived in Chennai

Thanks, bit to think about here!

I guess the real question I'm asking here is how can I make my side better? Really the one name that's sticking out at me as a must have (this round, anyway) is Axar. I have enough bank to get straight to him from Curran but again, I'd have to make the decision tonight and that irks me.

I'm sure I could get Patidar to a better cash cow too but his value to me is much more around RCB's draw and there's nobody else within their team that would fill that role in the same way.
