Yeah that was brutally unlucky. I have to take some responsibility, I posted my team with him in it - I just happened to pick the only one of the four Mumbai $230k players that got a game! Luckily I was able to stay up and adjust, I know not everyone is in the same boat - especially as daylight savings hasn't ended yet down south!
all good.

I've done abit of magic and brought in Narine, and Ramadeep Singh, I'll use them.
S.Sharma can stay at BWL7
No boost required

He would've been perfect. But I'm $27K short

I guess I have to take a shot at one. at least we know LSK aren't playing this round.
Like my Mulani pick, what were the chances he was getting a game.

@tso any chance you're able to get me confirmed team list 5 hours before coin toss :ROFLMAO:
Extremely unlucky

Normally they play the extra bat , but ended up using 7 bowlers.

I gather Dhir was the replacement for SKY.

I think they often get tricky with their OS as well and often only start 3.

Fingers crossed the LUC one doesn't get games in the future.

I might just go back to my Bat/WK donut , easier to think things through (for my brain anyway)

Speaking of WK donuts... could be in a real pickle with them soon.

The two best options in terms of job security (or anti-security I guess) are Rathore and U Yadav, and I project both of them to have absolutely terrible looping draws for the remainder of the season. (Play 1st 3 and 5 times respectively)

The only confirmed donut, Minz, is at GT, who also have a poor looping draw. (1st four times)

Of the 29 WKP eligible players, 20 played round 1. 5 of the ones that didn't are in those three teams. The other four are:
Gurbaz and Bharat (KKR) - manageable looping draw up until round 12, but Gurbaz is very expensive and Bharat could also conceivably play, depending on how much they trust Salt
Kushagra (DC) - also very expensive for a potential donut (420k!)
Vinod (MI) - again, manageable looping draw - no 1st game until round 12, but quite a few second games before then. This really only works if you have a player that plays first in all those rounds...

Not one to worry about for a few more rounds but will be interesting to see the strategies used here!

‘Don’t see that’: IPL auction ‘drama’ as team bizarrely bids on wrong player... then tries to reverse it

As part of a marathon IPL auction, there were a bizarre moment of ... well, mistaken identity.

During the accelerated round, Punjab Kings appeared to accidentally bid for Shashank Singh. Shashank’s name was called out for a base price of 20 Lakhs before Punjab raised its paddle.

But when the hammer went down and the next player was set to be announced, Punjab co-owners Ness Wadia and Preity Zint seemed to be discussing that they’d made a mistake and wanted to withdrawal their bid.

uctioneer Mallika Sagar however stood her ground and said they had to keep Shashank under auction rules.

“The hammer has come down now,” Sagar told Zinta and Wadia.

If any team completes a bid, under auction rules they are required take that player and can’t withdrawal it once the hammer has gone down.

Shashank, a 32-year old who plays for Chattisgarh in domestic cricket, went unsold last year in the auction after being released by Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The mix up might’ve happened due to the fact that were two players named Shashank Singh in the auction shortlist.

The other is a 20-year old uncapped batsman from Bengal with no previous IPL experience, while Punjab went on a spending spree during the accelerated round in a bid to fill up its spots.

As to be expected, the blunder prompted some reaction from the cricket world.

“We don’t see that in the auction if you are clear with your plans,” commentator Suhail Chandok said on Jio Cinema.

Former New Zealand national coach Mike Hesson, who was appearing as an expert on the program, added of Punjab: “Not sure what Punjab achieved from this IPL auction. They have a lot of backups but not a lot of substance.”
I thought I recognised his name when checking the RDT scores

0 + a catch and run out
21* (8)

not bad for someone they selected by mistake

Wonder if Punjab do a reshuffle band bring in Rossouw for Bairstow , based on your chart it looks ok'ish.

Unlucky to be run out at the bowler end in the first game , or just learn to stay in your crease at both ends

Wasn't Ravindra a last minute bid, and for $200k.
He's definitely jumping at the opportunity, and will not be $200k next year
Base Price 50.0 Lakh

DC & CSK traded bids

PBKS came in @ 1.10 CR.

3-4 counter bids

Sold to CSK for 1.80 CR (about $ 330k)

I guess they saw him as a back up for Conway.

Keeps playing like this , can make his own price for the next auction

If I copy your team and then don’t wait up, that’s on me :)

This burns me every single time I contemplate it but if GT do indeed have no double/bye over the season, there's a very real chance trading him is the right move...
Timely reminder - Rashid was only in my team for two rounds last year even though he was the highest averaging player. Like @Herbie66 said, this comp has so many quality players, we can't really become attached to anybody.

6/346 vc Ravindra becomes 6 + Ravindra vc taken 453
plus 88 for Saha (e) if my donuts don't play, so 7/541.
Marsh, Patel, Jaiswal and Jurel yet to play. Might reverse trade Jurel to another player, will wait for teams.
