It's his fathers funeral on Monday so they might not want to risk him not being able to fly home after the match like Gov the other week.
McGovern’s situation isn’t really comparable with Yeo’s situation (unless there is an undisclosed injury we are not privy to after their most recent injury update) in terms of flying, as Yeo has a choice. With nothing to play for and no benefit it would have been negligent on West Coast’s behalf to allow McGovern to fly back given the increased risk of blood clots, etc too soon after the internal injuries.

You must have misunderstood my post... I wasn't talking about Gov's injury, I'm fully aware of what it was and why he couldn't fly.

I was saying that Yeo will definitely want to be here for his dad's funeral on Monday... and the club might have sat down with Yeo and said that we don't want any potential injury that may occur during the match on Saturday... stopping you from flying home for your fathers funeral, having just had a player (Gov) get injured during an away match and not be able to fly just 2 weeks ago.

Better to just call it soreness, rest the body (which will benefit him anyway) and not risk anything happening during the match.

All good. Intention was moreso for those in passing (rather than yourself) that may have missed the McGovern news or were not aware of the severity of his injury and the reason he (or others that suffer those types of injuries) couldn’t fly and given the risk is always present for WA clubs heading on long interstate trips, since the recency of McGovern’s situation should hold no weight on others . Also highlighting how selfish, pointless and risky it would have been for Yeo in a meaningless match given it is a team sport, list sizes, current ladder position and so on, to further assist your point.

No Gawn means Jackson will need to stay in my ruck line for at least another week and will need to field either Tholstrup or Kreuger at F6.
Yeo out as well so I'll loop between D'Ambrosio/Humphries.
Good to see Fisher named on field.
No trades this week. Gonna save them.

The GIANTS have been dealt an injury blow ahead of their clash with the Gold Coast Suns at ENGIE Stadium.

GIANTS coach Adam Kingsley will be sidelined after sustaining a significant hamstring strain during a training drill on Thursday afternoon.

The 48-year-old is expected to be sidelined for the next month.

GIANTS Head of Medical, James Rahme, said:

“It’s disappointing news for Adam.

“He has damaged his hamstring tendon which will sideline him for slightly longer than a traditional strain."

In positive news for the GIANTS, Kingsley will still be available to coach against the Suns on Saturday afternoon and will still be able to train upper body.

The GIANTS take on the Suns at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday at 1:45pm.
