Is rozee to butters a stupid trade?
I don't. I have Rozee also and would do this if I could, I think I'll actually move him down to Crouch to maybe fre up $100k for next weeks trades. Not sure yet. Butters is CD gold, same as Green atm.

Do we think fyfe gets subbed every second week. Probably would of got another 100 if not subbed?
Frustrating, but logically we knew he'd be managed. He was just coming good on the weekend and was subbed which was a shame.

Probably just Berry to Carroll and Reid/Coffield to Mass

Other under consideration Crouch, Powell and NWM

Early thinking is:

Out: Coffield, Lazzaro & either Hogan/Martin
In: Powell, D'Ambrosio, Dempsey

Outs...
Coffield could be Reid as basically looking to shed 1 dead weight back rookie. Both have similar looping draws so the tie breaker is Reid has slightly better cash gen prospects if I'm still holding him when he's back. In all likelihood whoever of the 2 I hold will be traded to a better rookie on another line once DPP additions come in.

Lazzaro I'm spewing on because he looked much better on the weekend and was on track for a decent score before being subbed. But at his price, I can't afford sub risks and all my other rookies are much better positioned or have lower BE's. So he's basically my worst one and it comes down to whether I get Dempsey or keep faith in Lazzaro. 2 games in, Dempsey looks the better bet.

Hogan/Martin is a case of points this week vs cash gen impacts. Martin likely sheds a few dollars this week but could give me a 90+ score. Hogan has no value this week (can't loop with him as have Sexton and Berry on the bench) but with a 34 BE he won't lose money and has a match up against GC who could give up some goals. The Hogan gamble hasn't paid off how I hoped but decided to try and aggressive risk give the trades this year and the relative lack of other corrections I was being forced into (wouldn't have got him if I had Young, Dawson, Newcombe, etc). This will probably be my biggest headache all week!

Ins...
Powell looks great, love the role and can see him making reasonably good cash over the next month plus is a very outside chance of holding F6 if he can keep up some good scoring. Seems a solid selection at his price point.

D/Ambrosio there is nothing to say about, wanted to get one more look at him, and I'm happy with the pick. Seems like he should be reasonably safe scoring and keep ticking along with cash gen. This is probably the trade in that is vulnerable if I can take him up to someone else or there are other more obvious targets.

Dempsey mostly covered in the Lazzaro line, seems a better option for cash gen and I really liked how he pushed up and worked into the game vs the crows after a slower start. Just seems a real talent that complements their forward set up and there is no reason not to get bulk game time into him as part of the cats transition. No brainer!

Yeah, appreciate that point and something on my mind. Thanks for the view. Although, you can could say that many who jumped on Green etc, although, the difference is role change vs 40% own him today. Had thought the ruck backup may be needed, yet, maybe Sam Darcy offers that alternative.

The other question is 21 years old, does he improve as a forward on last year, you would think so.

If not Jackson, would you go Serong or Butters, former looks to have mildly better draw.

Similar to you, looking Powell. dont have Massimo so Young can go to him, rather than go up from Reid.
Get Butters before you are priced out especially with so many home games and JHF out injured for mine but back your gut.

They went way too high on his TOG last round and he couldn't get through the following week, Id be surprised if its not more like what we saw on the weekend consistently, doesn't necessarily need to be subbed just managed minutes.

I was thinking rozee to crouch as well, butters is just crazy good and a top 4 mid. Where crouch might have to be traded again. I think crouch goes at 105 ave butters 120+

How would you rank rookies in terms of trade in targets?

Dempsey/Carrol/Sharp the 3 I don't have with decent negative BEs but there's a shortage a players to trade out... Berry and Berry maybe to take two of them?

Defence line needs resuscitating with Young, Gibcus, Buderick (don’t ask) & Reid.
Although not going to be too concerned if I go in with only 5 in defence this week as it’s still best 18 and wait for another rookie to emerge.

Gibcus - Massimo is Locked. Lazzaro to Clark. 50/50.

Then things get sideways.

Hold Young instead of trade NWM.? Both good byes. NWM looks to have a bit more in the tank this year, i love the overlapping run, the lad has a magnificent kick and moves like a panther. And genrally looks more involed in the game, even with Sinclair back. (need to watch the replay).

or

Jordan to Powell. Powel has the better BE and better bye. Currently 4 Swans on the Field. Powell no real history of consistant scoring at this level but was prolific at junior levels. If i trade Powell in, i think he becomes a must hold until at least the bye round. Still concerned that Simpkin, after the heavy knock in the preseason game is still finding his way back into his familar role, then my concern is Powell goes back to 65+ average which will ruin the cash generation available in the FWD line.? 50/50 call at this stage. I will need to watch the reply.
With Darcy looking good (need to watch reply) one of the potential replacements for Jordan next week.

Lazzaro moves to the mid line and Clark (FREO) is his replacement. Not happy Lazzaro used as a sub as he was having a good game. Sharp seems to be a safe pick, has found his role in the team and with Freo having good start to the season, should be good for a nice return, over the next few weeks.

Round 4 Wines to Touk. Cannot ignore his start to the season and is a proven uber with a good history. Took Wines over Crouch, looks to have cost me a few points. But the Touk trade was always on the cards in my preseason planing.

One trade used RD2
RD3 definately 2 trades used Gibcus to Massimo - Lazzaro to Clark. Possibly Boost, Young will hemerage cash and has lost appeal as a D6.

Round 3 team - 2 trade use. Boost incomming. NWM or Powell.?

Round 4 Wines to Touk - Jordan to Darcy

34 trades remain and i sit for a few weeks until DPP.

Fingers crossed one of Coffield or Reid are back Round 5 for bench coverage and Williams can hold together.

Was considering both Dawson and Young out, but think I need to hold and build around them. Although they could get me some nice shiny toys, I think I have to eat the short term cash loss, and hold with a view to them justifying their starting price long term.

As long as they don't get injured at the bottom of their price cycle (yes I realise this is guaranteed to happen).....

Preliminary thoughts: Naicos > NWM and Bonner > Steele, though he might benefit from Henry’s injury?
Berry is on a (small) bubble and can wait another week. Don’t really want to use a Boost yet

Operation Tom Green war-chest is underway.

Young > Mas
Coffield > Pink

This leaves me ~135k off moving Lazzaro > Green next week (maybe ~115k after a price movement from Laz).

Yet to use a boost, but totally open to one for the great man next week.

Nic Martin > Powell guarantees I can get there in one move next week but I'm unsure.
