Two matches left to play in a best 18 round, so hard to tell and doesn’t really matter yet. Depends on your definition of good given the variation between posters as to what “good is”. Are you talking in regards to competition wide, site wide, top 1%, your current ranking position, etc?

18/1570 McKay

Shocking captain choice for me, but McKay was 48 after the first…

Decent night tonight, but had clohesy on the bench due to trusting Williams and D’Ambrosio on field. Wasn’t a bad instinct, but they were blown out of the water by the 2nd gamer’s effort.

Have Carroll, Sanders, Sharp and English (bah humbug!) in my score, so I’m desperately hoping Reid, McKercher, Stewart and Campbell knock them off.

Overall I’m well off the pace, but cash gen has kickstarted again for rookies that were seemingly dead. I only used one trade as well, so fingers crossed my luck can turn a bit as I had 4 premiums (counting McKay) underperform this round.

We don’t have access to Nico’s wonderful site anymore, so I don’t think there’s much point trying to figure out PAR scores. Just temper it with your leagues, plus the scores posted on here and I’m sure you’ll get a reasonable idea.

Only thing I can say with confidence though is that I will be under it this round.

Libba 101
Darcy 82 :D
Sanders 46

Libba underwhelming but not too bad given the circumstances. Haven’t seen any vision of the “collapse” they were going on about at the end there. Hopefully just BT being BT and making everything dramatic. I must admit he looked groggy though and he has a concussion history. Darcy great again. Happy I ended up going through with that trade in otherwise I’d be in a world of hurt. Sanders started like a house on fire then faded badly before Bevo struck again. Shouldn’t count in the best 18… right?

The best part of the night though was the non-owns. English and Bont combined for 131 and will be prime upgrade targets in a few weeks. Martin didn’t hurt me and is still on the radar as he managed to ton despite being very quiet.
15/1606, hopefully 13/1496 (minus Sanders and Cadman)
Ryan 145 :D☯️
Steele 143 :D
Houston 121 :)
Flanders 116 :)
Serong 110 :)
D’Ambrosio 94 :D
Williams 92 :D
Jackson 72
Green 72
Bonner 72 :(
Cadman 64 (drops out?) :)

Sheezel, Yeo, Powell, McKercher, Reid, Campbell, and Brown tomorrow.

Ryan went insane in that last quarter. Was on 29 three minutes before HT and high 60s at 3QT. Took some huge contested intercept marks and being a close game he reaped massive points from them. Steele excellent on debut. Another who benefitted from big acts in the final stages of a close game. Houston with yet another good score. Season high and still hasn’t gone under 105. Flanders great of HB again. Didn’t see the game but fanfooty suggesting Maginness spent some time on him? If so that’s a great result to break it. Serong bang on what I wanted from him. Port is a tough matchup so a 110 is perfect. D’Ambrosio with a spike score to boost his cash gen. Was quietly hoping he’d stink it up as there’s too many good defender rookies that are demanding on field spots! Was hoping for a huge one from Williams after being on 70 at HT but once again faded in the second half.

Jackson absolutely dreadful against a ruck he should be scoring well against. Thrashed in the hitout numbers and was fumbling all night. Has been very mediocre excluding that North game. Needs to go huge against WC next week. Chance I’ll trade. Green was on 30 at QT and just struggled to have an impact after that. Just a mare I hope. Bonner was very similar to Green with 30 at QT before fading. Likely trade candidate this week. Cadman solid. Hoping he drops out but I have 4 rookies to come.

Disappointed to have benched Clohesy but at least going early on him worked out. Going early on Graham though I am stoked about. Opens up so many more options this week. Started slow but tackles his way to a big score. JS would be great now.

4 lowest scores Sanders 46 , Jackson 72 , Green 72 :eek:, Bont 73 :eek::eek:. Stewart, Clark, Campbell, Sheezel, McKercher, Brown & Reid to go.

Meek not a disaster but hoped for a bit more especially after the first half. Obviously got hurt by the knee in the kidneys and didn't play the last 15 minutes. Hopefully he plays next week. A one week stay in my team was not the plan.

Might have missed a trick waiting on Clohesy & Graham but never getting both and one would have been for D'Ambrosio who did pretty well.

The above includes Darcy who is sitting with the E assuming Mannagh doesn't get the call up tomorrow.

Bottom 4 include Sharp, Cadman, Jackson, and Green. If it were to stay that way my score would be 11/1436 :D

Unlikely though with Sheezel, Dempsey, Clark, Yeo, Powell, McKercher, and Reid to play.

Is this round over yet? In the unlikely event (because I am not feeling confident after what the round has dished up so far) that all four of Sheezel, Powell, McKercher and Reid each score more than 58, then I’m 14/1440.

PAR means the average or median score of course…more so for the top 1,000 teams…
importance levels should be obvious…gives us a guide to where our teams may be situated to finish for the round..
So par is not conflated with percentile?

Is 1,000 picked because it is a nice, round even number or is there any methodology behind it? Is it a realistic goal for those starting behind the pack or for others who should be tempering expectations to avoid disappointment?

Is the guide limited to a sample size of posters, from a couple of leagues or dependent on ownership percentages of those inside the “top 1000” and is the sample size large enough?

Is it reliant on accurate projections in the remaining matches and will large variations between actual and projections play a significant part in “par“ being reduced or increased?

Someone can post a score asking if it will be above “par”, we can respond with yes with minimal reasoning or calculations provided because of the vibe and thus instant reassurance is received by the poster that their score is deemed above par which achieves the intended purpose.

This. Complete and utter waste of time this season. Need to remember the effort it takes to post good scores and bad scores. Who wants to take the time to post their updates with the likes of Petracca, Dawson, Bontempelli, Green, English, etc and having any of those as captains? Such an arduous task compared to the upcoming rounds when they fire.

Is Butters gonna miss next week for that hit? I also have Libba so me right?
Thought it was similar to Crouch. Goes in for the ball, the only difference Butters went lower and pushed past the ball. Bit like taking out the legs.

Very grey, neither looked like a bump, more turning of the body as you go for the ball. I would think both are ok, maybe a fine for reckless, low and low.

lol…why ask so many questions in your responses @Connoisseur ?
Of course there is rationale behind the top 1,000 PAR as I sit just outside that overall…

Not every comment needs to be dissected or broken down but understand everyone also entitled to their own opinions…
