My original thoughts this week were...

McKercher & Sanders > Graham & Heeney

However, with some advice on here, I have started to think about using a 4th boost, and moving on Cadman > Comben as well.

Am in the Top 1%, and 93.9% of Top 1% own Heeney, hence the reason I was thinking of getting him, and the fact he has a BE of 50. Do we think the inclusion of Adams, and Parker back in the next week or two, will have that bigger impact to drop his scoring to a 110 average, and if so, is it best to wait until his price comes down?

Dilemma for this week, an would like some insights on what people think.

- Use 4th boost - is that too much at this time of season?
- If I use the boost, do I go Heeney with his inflated price, and the risk of his price dropping?
- I could use the boost and bring Merrett instead, who has an easy draw coming up?
- Do I just go for a player of value (ie. Miller, etc)

Whatever trades I use, this will leave me with little funds, meaning I will have to use downgrades of Dempsey, Sharp, Massmio, Roberts next week in order to fund anymore upgrades.

Team doesn't include Heeney, Merrett, Bont, English, Marshall, and Butters, all of who are possible targets for the future, but funding means the sacrifice of some decent rookies.

Appreciate the assistance

In my post about Heeney here I noted that historically Heeney had clusters of good scoring that were o***et by clusters of poor scores to return a mediocre average.

Heeney has gone at 144 over the first 5 so I can't see him going at 144 over the first 10. He has to regress at some point.

However in the same post I hypothesised about Heeney averaging 116 over his first six matches and he's now cooking at 25% better than that, so really, I have no clue what I'm talking about.

I imagine he'll probably keep the role as the incumbent (he's in rare form so why ruin a good thing) but will start to share with others so will come back to the 110-115 mark or thereabouts.
That's a brilliant post BTW. Great research ;)

Why do yo need to cover Gawn? It is a best 18 week?
Playing Jackson in the ruck (covering Gawn) still should net points (having 22 players from the best 18 to score from, rather than 21) - but yes it's not the same as covering a donut during a normal round. I'm holding Jackson due to that reason too, as well as playing WCE. If it was anyone other than WCE/NTH/HAW/RICH I'd probably trade Jackson this week.

Agree, I am playing 21 players this week, as I traded Grundy, thus I will have a donut as one of my lowest 4 scores. If Jackson can't perform against WCE, then yes he may be moved on next week, but you have to consider whether he is a Top 6 FWD.

Sounds like you have a strong team 🙂
I don't believe you will gain much by swapping Cadman to Comden. On field points will properly be close. Cadman is expected to go up by $40K over the next three rounds and Comden by a $100K. So personally I would be saving the boost.
Is there anyone else you could use instead of Sanders? With Libba out this week he should get more mid time and even Bevo would not game to sub him again 🤔 perhaps he might, wait until teams drop?

Only way I can fund the Heeney/Merrett trade is with a player like Sanders/Roberts/Dempsey, etc Would rather a Clark, but can't afford it.

Comden is value, but might be worth saving the boost. That's the hard decision

i think the likes of sanders, sharp, massimo and zwill are all one low/mid score away from being ready to be cashed out cos that will really stall their cash gen

in that case, hopping off them a week early to facilitate a premo upgrade isnt the worst idea

only one is sanders if he gets fwd dpp because if he avgs around 80 which is possible if bevo stops fking with him then he would be a decent f5/f6 for a while with dpp flexibility

for me im targetting merrett, stewart petracca and potentially walsh in the next couple rounds. will be using some of the more expensive rookies to trade up to them

a possible trade next week is massimo zwill sharp for stewart walsh and garcia

I really don't want to move any of those rookies on, as they all have more cash to make. As I said I'd rather move Clark on, but I can't. I also have 4 dead rookies in Reid, Coffield, Mannagh, and Livingstone. Happy to wait for Reif to return and use the others as loops atm though

The issue for me is do I fade Heeney and risk him going large again with the Top 1% at 94%, ownership and go with the POD move of Merrett, who is more expensive, but has a great run after playing ADE this week?

Freo have dogs next week, they're giving up big points to KPF and rucks according to DFS

Gives me $ 344,100.00 in the Bank

Feel like I have more onfield rookies now than my starting team and have used 13 trades 🤔

Onfield upgrades required :-

Clohesy (2 games) , D'Ambrosio , Williams

Roberts , Graham (2 games) , H Reid , Sharp

Comben (2 games)

+ Meek @ R2

Bench is :-

Brown - downgrade to ?
Reid , Z - dead

Sanders - upgrade Round 7
Wilson - needs a spike game
Clark - needs a miracle

Livingstone - dead

Camden - downgrade possibly Round 7
Campbell - downgrade possibly Round 7

Just work it out round by Round I guess
Change of plans

McKercher - > Graham
King - > Young (started , traded out) via Reid & Daicos

Just need to be patient with D'Ambrosio , Reid , Roberts , Sharp , Williams onfield and Brown , Cadman , Campbell & Sanders on the bench and squeeze every $ out of them.

Dawson , LDU , Macrae , May , Oliver , Parish are always available as "break glass in case of Emergency" 😉

See how Tay Tay goes in his second game , don't mind D Rioli as a POD option in defence (but most likely wait for Sicily)

Hopefully Drury , Garcia & Nyuon perform well enough to give us something to downgrade to next round.

Does Cadman to Nyuon get you the cash you need to move Clark or one of the lower priced rookies? I was bringing in Comben but am having second thoughts now. Clearly he will make cash and you are taking a risk going to Nyuon early. But for me trading is about getting the cash and improving your team asap. So Nyuon could make just as much as Comben and you have the benefit (subject to picking the right upgrade) of getting a better scoring player earlier. Nyuon would also get D/F at the second DPP change while Comben gets it after this game.

I am not sure on the Nyuon trade. TBH, I prefer Drury's JS better, but it is too early to go on these two yet IMO.

I am also in the top 1% and don't own Heeney (traded him out before his bye). I am not planning on getting him back until after his rnd 12 bye. yes it is a risk but to win the whole thing you need to be a little bit different. i'm betting/hoping that Heeney slows down with Adams and Parker back and Guldon picking up his points output too. between rnd 5-12 he has 2 byes so only plays 6 of 8 games whereas Rowell who i traded him for plays 8.
