you guys feel Macrae will be solid all year now even with Libba back or was it a game where all dogs simply racked up big numbers?? he is another potential locked premium available at a decent price the next 2 weeks along with Stewart, Daicos, Dawson etc and to a lesser extent Newcombe if he is back in touch but I want to see Newcombe do it vs a decent side.

Yeh I am going Garcia over Drury think his job security is better and is a seasoned player who's body shouldn't need rest.. Been tearing up VFL and Bevo wants these points of difference quicker guys in team I like his job security. I've waited until the right time and can get in Daicos and Dawson to with a trade boost.. only 1 left now but won't be able to get those 2 in this cheap again...

Powells run is over with North I ideally wanted to trade Dempsey instead but Needed to go a 400 + k guy to afford Dawson and Daicos upgrades... north running many mids through there now... my Horne Francis experiment is being aborted 2 weeks in more due to the fact I need to do it to get Dawson in.. some would call it a sideways trade But I don't think so... probably got sucked in to his few good games thinking he can do that every week... he probably will underperform a bit still against some top sides and on the road in games..

POWELL TO GARCIA
ZAC WILLIAMS TO DAICOS
HORNE FRANCIS TO DAWSON

will look at Stewart in a few weeks at a good discount and maybe Newcombe if yesterday was a bounce back game for him.. Wanted to get in Xerri for Marshall but in the end you only make 80,000 for a guy who will score similar in the long run to Marshall despite Marshalls shocker Thursday night

thoughts on my moves?? Dawson is a must with NORTH,PORT,BRISBANE, PIES (give up big numbers to mids) WEST COAST to come. Also already have Miller and Rowell in the middle for this week vs Eagles which obviously won't be as cupcake for supercoach scores with REID/KELLY/YEO looking competitive now but still a good spot for the gold coast guys.
I'd prefer to get rookies off field first instead of getting rid of Powell & JHF personally.

I just think you risk falling behind the teams that keep Powell & JHF and additionally bring in Daicos/Dawson with rookies - as opposed to you just swapping Powell/JHF for Daicos/Dawson during upgrade season and keeping rookies on field.

How does everyone rank the rookie bubble options this week? Think for me it is:

1. HGarcia
2. Nyuon
3. McAuliffe

There is also Conway, Drury, Tunstill and maybe even Mullin.

Like the DPP for HGarcia and seems pretty safe JS wise as well. Nyuon playing that defensive role has him slightly ahead of McAuliffe although both have shaky JS. Nyuon with Dawson returning soon and McAuliffe with Hopper and Prestia returning.

Think most will be taking 2 or even 3 this week unless they went early last week. And some may even go early this week on RGarcia.
Honestly think they all have pretty poor JS. Realised Saints didn't get a VFL game so no chance for Dow to play. Crouch was 3-4 (presumably 2-3 now) so HGarcia should be ok for the next 2-3, just have to assume Dow plays VFL first before AFL.

Nyuon had a leg issue in the first quarter but played out the game. Hard to believe they sent Comben forward ( ) but have to think Nyuon's job security is still ok at least until Dawson is back (was 2-3 so presumably 1-2 now) - Sellers did absolutely nothing again, so I think Nyuon (and even Pink) get a job security boost, have to feel Sellers is dropped after 2 games with 2 disposals or less...

We will at least know if McAuliffe is in the 22 by the start of the round... Prestia is 3 weeks, Taranto/Ross are both 8 (!) weeks so it's basically just Hopper this week who will come in. I am not sure he will survive the cut, basically depends how much mid time they want to give Bolton/Dusty this week.

Back down to earth for Drury this week, he's fine but I prefer Tunstill who at least has the potential for the occassional mid/wing time. Mullin has poor job security, but if he comes straight back in from his personal leave (sister's wedding) - that may be a good sign for him.

For fun, I'd rate them:
1. HGarcia - MID/FWD, job security ok for now, scoring fine for now
2. Nyuon - Job security ok for now, key position defender so eh for scoring
3. McAuliffe - If he holds his spot with Hopper back, otherwise much further down the pecking order
4. Tunstill - I really like Tunstill, unfortunately the role isn't great for him at the moment, but job security is potentially ok while Bailey is out. Is probably an injury away from some CBA's, but with Lyons sub, that also seems unlikely as Lyons would just come in for the injured player and play midfield.
5. Mullin - Not base price, scoring is meh, job security is unknown. Moves further down the order if not straight back in
6. Drury - I would say poor scoring potential but did put up a 78 game 1. Don't rate his scoring or job security or role
7. Conway - Not base price, likely straight back out this week, likely just fills in every 4-5 games to keep Stanley semi-fresh. Was scoring quite poorly until Big O went down and he got to ruck against Dunkley/Daniher.
8. Hamill - Really don't rate him but if he holds his spot and Mullin doesn't, potentially an option for those desperate
9. Hustwaite - Day is about to return to make things even worse for him
10. Sellers - :ROFLMAO: - hey he's on the bubble.... A BE of 49 but my understanding is players can't fall under the $102,400 threshold.

For the ones that have played 1 game, I can't imagine Riley Garcia does much with Libba back. He actually only played 21% CBA so maybe holds his spot as a forward or sub. - I thought Leek Aleer was good, likely just plays one more game for Sam Taylor then out of the team. Worner was good in the WAFL but not sure a spot for him. Would need Brandon Walker to be dropped. Sweet presumably straight out for Dixon, although I thought he was ok.

Wanted Petracca for the Richmond game, still want him, so:

Williams, Sharp and Cadman > Petracca, Nyuon and McAuliffe

Have 100k spare, so if Conway finds himself being selected, I will very likely flick one of McAuliffe or Nyuon and move Livingstone to forwards to accommodate the ruckman.

I hardly think Powells run is over.. you may want to check DFS CBAs for Norths midfield numbers..

Just on McAuliffe, Tigers with their injury issues had guys like Baker & Graham in their CBA rotations which isn't their normal position :-

Looking at the Tigers injury report, Hopper is a test/ only mid due back this week or next :-

https://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/1533177/injury-report-anzac-day-eve-2024

Richmond Injury List:

Test

Dylan Grimes, wrist

Jacob Hopper, knee

Unavailable

Jayden Short, soleus (1-2 weeks)

Dion Prestia, hamstring (3 weeks)

James Trezise, ankle (3-4 weeks)

Noah Balta, knee (3-4 weeks)

Jacob Bauer, hamstring (3-4 weeks)

Jack Ross, foot (8 weeks)

Tim Taranto, wrist (8 weeks)

Tom Lynch, hamstring (10-12 weeks)

Liam Fawcett, back (TBC - Long Term)

Mate Colina, back (TBC - Long Term)

Josh Gibcus, knee (season)

Judson Clarke, knee (season)

With Prestia's soft tissue history, I expect the tigers to be cautious with him so add another week/ meaning probably 4 weeks away. McAuliffe averaged 143 SC in the SANFL under 18's last year (26 possessions/ 14 contested average per game) & many expected him to debut round 0 with what he showed in preseason. 187cms/87 kgs so he is a big bodied inside mid.

Before the WCE game, Yze said this :- "Kane McAuliffe is going to play a full game in the midfield and to be fair, he's earnt that." - Adem Yze with some exciting news for Richmond

I went early last week on Hugo Garcia after the Sanders sub news, mainly because of what I saw from in the last quarter v GWS/ looked great in the centre square so if McAuliffe is named as expected for Wed pm I will be jumping on him. Much prefer him over Biggie tbh, he looked like a very average player to me - seemed a bit lost.

I would have this week's possible rookie trade in order as :-

1. Hugo Garcia
2. McAuliffe
3. Nyuon

Really keen on Riley Garcia the following week after watching what his role is with Libba in the team, not willing to go early because of that & the way Bevo likes to change things around.

The premo ins are easy this week, it's the rookie ins that are hard especially for those who went early on Hugo Garcia.
Has to be either one of Biggy or Kane, even though they both have their JS problems.

Indeed :-

With most teams dealing with the rookies getting subbed issues along with Williams/Stewart injuries, I don't see Powell as a big issue myself with his current role. Poor game yesterday with the fumbling/ not clean but I still believe he is worth keeping at this stage with the uncertain nature of the forward premium options this year.

Spot on re RGarcia, plenty hurting after they traded Ramsden in a week early and things are still very fluid selection wise at the Bulldogs. Once I see him named for his third game I will consider trading him in.

Just be aware that centre bounce attendances do not account for a significant portion of the game in relation to stoppages, nor does it automatically equate to high or improved scoring if no correlation or a weak correlation exists. It is also reliant on the inference that no or little interchanges/rotations take place to that midfield core between goals or quarters.

The Drew experiment is done and dusted, had always budgeted for him to come out, would prefer that he could hold down M5 but not to be.

Massimo being subbed sort of shows his place in the pecking order and I don't want that risk in the team over the best 22 rounds with an inability to loop.

Walsh will come in, wanted him in my starting team because of his value, I still see that value which obviously coincides with the injury risk

I think I'll go early on Macrae as the downgrade of Drew to him gets me the funds to upgrade Massimo to Walsh.

So early doors looking like...

Massimo > Walsh
Drew > Macrae
Cadman > H Garcia

Doesn't get any rookies off the field which has been my primary focus, but does get me a forward that I need. Can't get Adams or Zorko because I'm over exposed to the round 12 bye.

This is a very good point and a more extension research should always be undertaken outside of CBAs. For the coaches that like to base there opinions off speculation or minimum research CBAs is a great 5second look.

Im tossing up on what premo mid to go for. Currently have Bont, Green, Rozee and Serong.
Would like some opinions on who would go for, butters and merrett have a friendly next 5 games. Walsh underpriced and i dont mind rowell... 🧐

In a vacuum I'd say Butters, but it's hard to pay up that much for an upgrade at this stage without potentially impacting future upgrades or culling the wrong rookies. Depends on your whole team balance, cash gen, etc. I am going Walsh due to value and being concerned I couldn't do an upgrade next round if I went the more expensive option.

Walsh - BE 33, averaging 148 first 2 games back - jump on at 576K because he isn't going to be this cheap again :ROFLMAO:

Might try something different

D'Ambrosio - > D Cameron
Sharp - > Adams
Williams - > May

not ideal , but suits my situation
Change of thinking

Probably target both Sicily & Stewart in upcoming rounds and use Roberts as long as possible @ D6.

If McAuliffe is in the starting 22

Campbell - > McAuliffe via H Garcia

See what Petracca (and Oliver) scores and then see new estimated price and BE against other mids to whether or not I trade Sharp or wait

Soligo with a 3 Rd average of 107.7 is interesting or just have some fun with JDG at similar price.

Tay Tay still a possibility , how long does his body hold together though.

May need to wait on 3 fallen mids until Clohesy , Comben & Graham have maxed out in price

D'Ambrosio stays and hopefully gets his BE (45)

Williams to D Cameron still on the cards.

Brain starting to hurt with too many options and possibilities
