10/1181 Merrett

Probably my best start to a round in what has been a rough season so far.

Merrett recovered big time from 14 points at quarter time. Reid was like 5-10, so high 50’s is not a complete failure. Kind of proves he’s not the forward keeper some were touting him as.

To go:

Freo: Serong, Jackson and Ryan
Dogs: Bont, Macrae, English and Darcy
GC: Flanders, Clohesy, Graham and T Berry
Lions: Dunkley
That's a really good score.

Heeney, Steele, Sheezel, Gawn, Martin, Green, Wilson, Stewart, Reid today. I have the V on Gawn and now have a much more awkward decision to make than I was expecting. Taking Gawn mean I also have to take Roberts’ 50 so would need C + Closehy to beat 161 to gain. It would be Serong or Bont.

One of those weeks to test the resilience of all supercoachers. Copped the Green 5 like most but have had him all along even though I did the Hokey Pokey trade at his bye. Feel for those that brought him in this week. I renew my call of many years for a better solution to this circumstance in this game. Sucks the enjoyment out of the whole round.

Traded out Windsor this week after I deciding to keep Meek. Also traded Campbell and Brown so lets see what torture those 3 have in store tomorrow. Happy with my decision to keep Steele this week. Nice to see Clark post a decent score a kick start some potential cash gen.

Daicos 150 :D
Walsh 91

Daicos great game capped off with the winning goal. Walsh just couldn’t make a whole lot of impact with his disposals despite finding a lot of the ball, especially in the second half. Think he had roughly a 60/30 DT/SC ratio in that second half. Might’ve gotten sucked in by the perceived value he looked at the time. Hopefully he can turn it around in the future.
14/1406 Gawn
Grundy 143
Wilson E 126 :love::love:
Steele 112 :)
Gawn C 111x2 :(
Heeney 109
Yeo 80
Sheezel VC 73
Reid 59 :(
Roberts 50 :(
Green 5 :cry::sick:🤕

Grundy responded to his poor game last round with a big one. Wilson HUGE. Great matchup and thought he’d score really well but definitely not this well. Will make some very nice cash. Steele good. Held on only due to the Green injury. Was expecting a 105-110 this week before resorting to a 90 average. Showed much more outside game this week so hopefully he still has some potential to score against harder opposition, but I’m still very low on confidence with him. Gawn disappointing as my captain. With McAuliffe playing VFL, I had the option of him as a loop when I didn’t think I would. This meant I could go Gawn into Serong like I originally wanted over Sheezel into Gawn, but after being on the latter all week I decided to go through with it. Heeney slightly down on his lofty expectations.

Looks like Yeo’s golden run has finally come to an end. Was looking the goods at HT on 62. Had a quiet-ish third term before being taken off for the last. Intention with the pick was always to flip eventually. Was rumours of a rest this week and I find it very likely he’s rested next week. Lots of things to go through but he might be on the chopping block this week while he has value. Sheezel very poor today. Not a midfielder yet and disposed of it poorly by his standards. Moved him to HB again. Reid quieter today. Maybe not the premium we dreamt of. Could still be the F7/M9 swingman. Roberts quiet and likely gone next week. Has been a very good rookie. Green unfortunate but what can you do? Just have to hope it’s not too bad.

Honestly don’t know how well I’m tracking. Carnage everywhere. Luckily most of my poor scores were from very popular players except Yeo and Houston. Wilson could be a nice leg up. Very interesting week, that’s for sure. This year has been relatively carnage free and there have been very, very little premo injuries. This week looks like the turning point.

Not a bad day for me with Reid the only real failure but everyone will have had him onfield. Benched Roberts which was carefully planned. Looping Wilson's 126! Very lucky to have kept Windsor this whole time and finally rewarded despite him being on my bench and will now make a lot of cash. At the start of the week I had targeted Parish but it involved trading Windsor so I'm not too mad about it. A non Green owner and Gawn not going crazily big might give me a decent round after suffering huge ones against them last week.

Have so many in play on Sunday so anything could still happen. Also going to the Dogs vs Hawks game. Still undecided whether I bring Dale in or take Rogers. But going Rogers would allow me to get in both Clarry & Parish.

With Young, Clark, Serong C, Jackson, English, Bont, Macrae, Darcy, Miller, Flanders, Graham and Clohesy left to play.

12/1320 Gawn C over Butters VC was looking like a disaster at halftime, thankfully he recovered, seem to be having a decent week mainly due to who I’ve dodged injury wise more than anything else, solid points on the pine that I can’t access with Wilson Sweet Clark even Garcia went ok in the end, but really a first world problem there compared to Green Yeo Rozee owners.

Like many, I traded Green in this week but no point worrying about it, we just have to cop those on the chin and move on. I have also copped Rozee and the low score from Whitfield.

The glass half full is that Sweet’s middling score meant that I ended up keeping Grundy. The pain if I ended up using him to get Green as originally planned would have been a lot worse. Also happy with fielding McKercher and Wilson and it was good to have NWM bounce back after a few less than average scores.

I am looking forward to the joys of playing a Sunday captain. Leaning towards Serong at this point though not very confident as I am not sure what to expect from him at the MCG.

Copped the Green bullet and a couple of poor rookie scores. Happy with trade-out in Powell/Roberts/Thomas and currently sitting with Merrett/Serong/R.Garcia as trade ins.

With Clarry and DP3 going large I may still revise the Serong/R.Garcia selection's to free up some room in the mids. Would love to know Green’s outlook but doubt there’ll be news before 1pm game.

Outside of Under the Dome who is flying with no Green (and @Vicwood who is 16/1868 with Parish/Oliver and no Green), think +2,200 on current projections is going to be a very good score although not making huge strides on others.

Similar to yourself Miller, I am 14/1,416 with Gawn C. Current projection is 2,227 and whilst that will change, think the range if average circa 100 per player that's probably top 2000-5000. Green 53% owned. Can see a bunch of scores projected to be 2100-2200.

Disappointed I wasted a trade Crouch to Merrett although expect they will pay me back in coming weeks.

Expect Oliver will be a common in next week, is he back? likely over the hand issue and maybe his fitness has caught up.
