I think being reactionary may be the key here, and it looks like the forward rookies aren't going to generate that much cash. May require a structure tweak.

Svarc was disappointing, but she also had 6 frees against. I'm not sure that's going to be a consistent pattern across the year, and they also did get smashed. Might wait and see on that one. Think Reid to Ferguson is a bit of a no-brainer.

Bohanna needs to be moved on - will see who I can grab. Third trade TBD, but (as you'd expect) the midfield seems to be where the points can be scored, and it seems like that's where the value will be.
Forward and defensive rookies were always likely to be thin on the ground. Recognising some rookies on each of these lines may have some upside from Round 1 things may look slightly better in a weeks time.

If you post your team it may be clear whether or not Reid must be culled but would back her to average in the mid 30s provided she doesn’t get stuck in a forward only role as she appeared to against the Saints.

This is what the team looks like. Actually very happy with it apart from the rookie issue (and maybe Svarc). 1641613591594.png

I would consider one option to be Svarc, Low, Lister for Rookie Mid, Ferguson and the Best Value forward you can afford.

That way you can look at a further correction trade next week once you see a 2nd week of form.

Yeah I like that. The 3 trades each week feels like a lot but I know I'll still be wishing there was more!

No team scores yet but you can see player prices and their round score in the player stats.
Not much increase for some. A higher scoring rookie like Ferguson went up $4.1k and Prespakis $4.7k.
On the other end of the scale Lutkins went down $4.2k and Paxman $4.3k.
It does show that a player can go below the round 1 basement price.

I’m glad they didn’t go and price the good rookies up by double the initial investment. To counteract that someone like Lewis would be half on her way to being basement price, which would be very unrealistic after 1 game.

My understanding is that in AFL Fantasy games the first week's repricing includes a weighting on the players priced average or breakeven.

As such a 2 week average for a player scoring 72 might be calculated as 40%*17+60%*72=50. As such the week 1 price doesn't move as much as the week 2 price based on 40%*72+60%*X. So a 72 in Round 1 might be a price differnce of $4k and another 72 in Round 2 might be a price difference of much greater than $4k.

I know the prices are lower but in a short comp it would be nice to see some prices moving by more than this in the first few weeks.

As per ShePlays static prices means everyone can jump on this year's bargain rookies and bolters without paying much of a $$$ penalty.

For the next few weeks the game will be about trading in players named for Friday and Saturday games and avoiding some players playing Sunday games to avoid the risk of not knowing a player is out and making sub optimal trades.

Do we have a breakdown for rounds 2-8 of Friday/Sat/Sun per club ?

Can someone on twitter reach out to AFLW Fantasy to advise them of the following INCORRECT score for a couple of STK players...
  • Jayde Van Dyk actual score was 50 (56 on AFLW Fantasy site)
  • Lucy Burke actual score was 32 (26 on AFLW Fantasy site)
Every other player's scores are OK.

Looks like he has gone off AFLW matchcentre stats.
Lucy Burke showing 2 kicks, 2 handballs, 1 mark, 3 tackles and 1 free for the 26 points.
Fanfooty and AFLWstats showing the 3 kicks, 2 handballs, 2 marks, 3 tackles and 1 free for the 32 points.
