Could be just coz im biased towards dogs players, but ill be starting with Jake Stringer. Averaged 80 after the bye last year. With another preseason under his belt, more midfield time and Tom Boyd to get the number one defender when in attack, he will get more possessions and more goals. Big call but can see him pushing 100 average.

This is a bit random, and based only because I happen to have read two articles on pre-season fitness tests and the winner of both Essendon's triathlon and full-day beasting was Ariel Steinberg. Any Bombers fans heard of him? Made his debut late last year, but on the books for a while

Grant Birchall. With Frawley coming into the Hawk back 6 I expect Birch to be released more up the ground. With that you'd expect his contested possession to increase as well as laying a few more tackles which is SC gold. Have a gut feel could be top 4 defender

He stirs a fair bit of debate between Bomber supporters. Both over what position he should play and over whether he is good enough to make it. Been at the Club 4 years coming into his fifth, originally on the main list but relegated to the rookie list two years ago. So he needs to be elevated to even play.

When he was drafted he was a half forward type. He was later moved to the backline. He won the Clubs VFL B & F last year playing as a key defender. Problem is at 191cm he is often playing on players taller than him, which is ok at VFL but can have some issues at AFL level.

The big question is how does he fit in at AFL? Some Bomber fans think he won't make it, others think he may be serviceable as a backup defender. Some argue he should go back to the forward line.

Whatever happens, even if he can force himself into the team I can only see him being a 40 to 60ppg odd scorer in SC.

Great that he can run but he can't actually play very well though. Looked well out of his depth at AFL level with scores of 34, 45 and 41.

Planning on picking obvious and popular choices in the mid, ruck and forward positions. Will have a few defensive pods but not sure who to go with yet.

Unless injury or ASADA strike then he isn't in our best 22 and I doubt he'll get a game when we have Hurley and Hooker back there with Hibbered, Fletch, Bags, Licka and now Cooney, can't see him fitting into our team structure especially with Pears probably in front of him to get a game? Could be wrong but as Grant said, if he does play I wouldn't expect much more than 50 average from him, probably better rookie selections out there.

Ambrose, amongst others, ahead of him in the half forward position, so I don't think he'll play forward for us.

Does Harley Bennell classify as a POD?

Past draft pick #02, has an enormous ceiling (193sc points against Melb in 2012), is past the 50 game marker, is lauded by Gazza, and as the Suns start winning more games he'll hopefully pick it up.

Under-priced because of a 35sc pt Rd 18 stinker.

Luke McDonald for me. 17 disposals at 75% in first season is impressive. 85ppg me thinks.
From Brad Scott regarding likely midfield replacement for Greenwood, McDonald in the Midfield Mix.

“Ryan Bastinac was starved for opportunity last year because of Greenwood's good form. His pre-season is suggesting that he won't let this opportunity slip,” Scott said.

“Flexibility is his (Higgins’) strength, we'll start him in the midfield and go from there.

“A mix of both (defence and midfield) for Luke this year.”

Dan Hannebery - average 101 last season.
Had a slow start to the year averaging just 78 in the first 4 rounds.
In his next 12 games he averaged 108.
Missed 6 games due to an ankle injury.
Take out the game he got injured in, and the game he came back (both against Port and both times being tagged by Kane Cornes) he averaged 119.6 in his last 10 games.
Has a big ceiling with 4 of his 16 games being 135+ with a high of 159.
Apart from the ankle injury he only missed 2 games in the prior 3 seasons (2011-2013)

I'm constantly tinkering, but the PODs in my current team iteration are:

H Taylor
Secret $300k+ Defender

Franklin <- probably not a POD
Higgins

Every year he finds a way to stick his ugly head up
20 Games last year (obviously over previous injury concerns) - 76.45 Ave, more midfield time. Sounds like a lock at this stage:cool:.

Could actually be A+ defensive/fwd cover if Hugh Goddard starts to get some games. Definitely one to watch in NAB based on that.

Think he will be a pod. I like him and Wingard but since Swan, Deledio and Goddard became dpps I can't fit in either of them.
