Try Stoinis , Cartwright , Larkin , Maxwell , Zampa , Coulter-Nile , Khan , Stanlake all fit easily enough with McDermott , Short & Meredith.
Thanks Herb,

.......................just punched them all in as per your guide................ $76K left in the bank for 5x Strikers benchies..................... juggle them around and good job, it is possible

Bench is a little daggy which causes hassle into round2 & round 3 Strikers doubles.............................but it was possible.

...............sometimes a little exercise like this can open up other ideas.....................bloody good thanks Herb

cheers ag

A bit of Wasim Akram in his run up , although he retired before he was born.

Seems a very quick action.

Didn't realise he had a trial with Rajasthan Royals before this year's IPL auction , knew he signed to play CPL (but had visa issues).

Think he either takes 2-3 wickets in his first game or gets absolutely smashed.
The thing that I noticed watching a couple of other videos was his wrongun turns more than his stock delivery. He presents a very interesting threat to left handers if they don’t read him (which is a high chance because of his rubbery wrist). Right handers might find him ok to face given the wrongun spins across them, so you might see a lot of them trying to either meet the ball early by sweeping or rock right back and play him as deep as possible.

Morkel out injured, Mujeeb missing first couple games. Swepson and Steketee on international duty. Xavier Bartlett for 42k anyone? Havent even seen him bowl with a white ball but very very impressive thus far with the red.
Don't mind this actually - was just looking at him earlier today myself. Two FC games this season, 7 wickets against Tasmania, just one against NSW but was barely used in the second innings. Guess the only question is how many games does he get to make money? You'd want at least three but I doubt you're going to get it...

I think for 42k im happy to take the punt for my last bench spot if he's named. He's probably got the best job prospects (albeit short term) of any of those basement priced guys. From what I can see, he's quite highly rated in the queensland setup (got picked the first 2 games ahead of Edwards and Doggett). From memory he barely bowled in that 2nd innings vs NSW due to a minor injury.

I certainly wouldn't be rushing to fill my bench with cheap Striker players just for the sake of it.

Can see the pros and cons of starting a Renshaw/Salt/Weatherald/Wells price type but actually thinks it hinders my starting team too much.

Would rather points on the board Round 1 and hopefully get off to a flyer.

With Strikers having back to back DGR can "catch up" in Round 3 if needed.

Funny last season M Short was considered almost a must have selection but has barely rated a mention.

Still weighing up whether to fill my bench with playing options from the start (still think it will be 6-8 rounds before you can utilise any cash they may make) or starting 2 x $ 42 k donuts in bat & bowl line to utilise the E & VC/C options.

I guess if you want to start 8 Stars/3 Hurricanes you use Dunk & Gotch which lessens your player quality (and probably Round 1 score) but then gives you more $$$ on your bench to play with in preparation for Round 2 (add a Hurricane + 2 Strikers) & Round 3.

Just a matter of working out different combinations.

Another takeaway is it probably rises the stocks of Stars and Thunder top order batsman. Makes me way less likely to take the risk of no maxwell.

Certainly opens up the opportunity but for how long for is the problem ?

Banton comes in for Lawrence (does Banton keep or Peirson ?) , does Gregory then come in for someone 9-11 ?

Bryant
Heazlett
Lynn
Lawrence (Banton opens)
Cooper
Peirson
Wildermuth
Laughlin

+ Gregory + Mujeeb

1 spot for Bartlett , Bazley , Kuhnemann , Morkel , Steketee , Willans

be good to find out more on Morkel's injury & when Mujeeb is actually available

maybe Bryant/Heazlett are not as secure as many think 🤔 (although they only have 5 Bat + Peirson + Gregory & Wildermuth)

Herb,

Been crunching names all day today.............................(I luv doing this stuff when I get time)................

..........considering the apparent ease there'll be to chase double round scores this year .........................and be able to then set-up nicely after each double round (provided you limit yourself to 6x same team players max in a double round).......................I'm going to run the $$$$'s gauntlet, let the money player cost fall where it may...................risk no bench safety.....................and let player past performance against each opposition dictate the trade.

6x Stars for me round 1 with balance all canes............................just not decided on McDerm/Hans up top....................... with DDP cheapies warming the bench.

I hate having $$$$'s still in the bank.............................only got a few bucks left after round 1 picks........................good

Points in the bank first for me this year Herb......................bad luck, bad weather, bad anything else (lol) can please itself .......................nothing ventured they say

Would anybody care to rate the following from 1-4?

Bryant, Gilkes, Hughes, Turner.

Will be picking one of them for my starting team.
Can’t split Bryant/Hughes
Turner
Gilkes

Turner the best player but can’t go past guaranteed opportunity that opening batsmen get.
Bryant, Hughes, Turner, Gilkes for me also.

I guess the way the fixture is set up , the option is to go hard early with the focus on Stars , Hurricanes , Strikers then reset in Round 4 for the Round 6 & 8 DGR.

The problem can be focusing on a player too much just because they have a DGR , history will suggest that probably 4 - 6 players "work" most DGR more often than not , and these will no always be the higher priced players , always seems to be a "donkey," that smashes out a 100+ eg Cook , Hinchliffe , Sutherland etc

On the other hand though their is a heap of SGR players that offer plenty of value from the start so do you go down that track and hope they score well and rise in $$$ significantly.

All about getting the right balance.

The other thing I am mindful of is how expensive those Renegades & Sixers players are at the moment and the challenge of trading in the right ones.

The main thing is back your gut & instinct.

Nothing worse than planning & researching and then you start looking at other people's teams and starting to second guess your own players and ideas.

Just hope this season my ideas actually work 😀 and I can be competitive.

Totally agree mate,

Back your gut has always been my way................................and being a bit out there sometimes has it's own reward, win or lose.

I've done well in both AFL/NRL supercoach the last few years employing early 'value' trades hoping for $$$ rises for down the track.........................bit diff of course with trading in them but I was always shirty having to waste a trade to make a few bucks......................but losing on most..................so not this supercoach, going to try to make the points beat the $$$$'s.

5x rounds Herb for the Ren's/Sixers prices to settle......................we need to worry about that then mate I reckon. Those hurdles will come as you know..............it'll be interesting every round the player form and the changes in prices.

You'll go alright mate....................funny how the more work you do often the better you end up............................so keep crunchin' mate.

I just wish round 1 would bloody hell get here (lol).................................counting the sleeps me

cheers ag

ps - tell you I do luv scheming too Herb, the VC /CAPT loophole...............................so obviously I have a deadun' always on the bench. Tad bit of luck and you can make huge points gains..........................early rounds D'arcy Short looks a super VC opt.

Can't figure out / read between the lines... Green named in the squad but Langer seems to have suggested "not yet"? I suspect I'm not the first to ask, please don't shoot me @Herbie66
mmm let's see

Adelaide with the Test Squad on December 9 or play the second Australia A game ? either way unavailable for BBL Round 1.

After that who knows what CA will do

is/will the Covid-19 situation be bad/good enough to allow the Test hub bubble to be relaxed enough to allow players to go back and forth to their BBL sides ? (assuming all the borders are open by then)

just have to wait and see what CA decide to do

I am ready , start the comp now , why have these LOI & T20I'S taking up valuable time ? 😀

Fixtures are out , Squads are finalised (almost) , now waiting for CA to wreak havoc with all my planning.

Yes have adjusted my team to bring back one of my preferred VC/C donut options for Round 1 in case Mr Short does go ballistic.

Let the fun begin

Herb,

Considering D'arcy's 'best' first round number against the Sixers of 140x plus................................good idea

Actually, the first 3x rounds look like a D Short VC loophole lock-in........................his best is 160x plus vs Heat & another 140x plus vs Ren's. Let's hope he's on fire early in the comp and we have to loophole til the cow's come home ay !!

I reckon anything around that 140x mark ............................me being the greedy so and so I am, will do...........................280x plus from 1x player in 1x round..........................yep, nice start to begin each round for 3x rounds........................you can only dream ay (lol)

cheers mate ag
