Have a guess who I was chatting to yesterday

Clearly the powers to be have come together and had a chat to work it all out once and for all as there was conflicting information. Fair enough too as it is a new rule and difficult to interpret as far as SC goes.

So the team bowling first could still sub out a player who has not scored a point , and their score stands ?

Yet a team from the batting side who has been subbed out with a 0 , gets their score replaced by a Emergency ?

hardly seems right to me

think it would be easier to say players subbed on don't receive any points at all , seems the simplest way

I can't help but worry that the sub will get a workout for some of the cheaper options, especially with so many sides missing players early on. I guess it depends on how ruthless they're prepared to be with bowlers. Would the Thunder bowl Cook in the power play and then drag him for Tremain or Doggett after 10 overs if he goes for plenty in his first over? It would have to be a particular concern with the Thunder and Strikers having stacked bowling benches.

Of course if this goes anything like the ODI super sub it won't matter a huge amount and everyone will have forgotten about it in a couple of years.

So if I'm interpreting correctly, if for example Pfeffer is named as the 12th or 13th player and the Heat bowl first, if he is subbed in then his score will NOT count towards our score and we can use him as a loop. If the Heat are batting first and Pfeffer is subbed in then his score WILL count towards our score and we can't use him as a loop.

Is my interpretation correct?

What I notice here is that no mention is made in either of those statements of whether the sub themselves get points. That seems to be the bone of contention here, and in addressing it they... haven't really addressed it?

Article on cricket.com.au suggesting Nabi & Noor are missing the first 2 games and had quarantine issues from arriving in SA !!!!!

Nabi might have got his Australian cities mixed up.

But they are suggesting Fraser-McGurk , Holland & @Professor boy Prestwidge will be in their opening team.

Exactly tweet said Emergency for the batting side , not necessarily the sub.

Subs may not even be bat eligible position

No. Sub fielders don't score points.

My batting Emergency is playing a different game to Ingram , if they both get subbed out I don't get any points.

Sounds like the organisers haven't thought through every possible scenario.

I always thought you had to 14 day quarantine at your initial arrival point before transiting.

Hope they are not at the Pullman or Stamford that is our Covid-19 cluster.

I think there's no international flights arriving in Melbourne for now, just domestic flights.

I didn't think we had any after our Covid-19 cluster either.

So I guess they arrived in Brisbane then domestic to Adelaide.

Renegades hub is in Hobart , so is the Queensland to Tasmania border open or closed ?

I have no idea to be honest.

The reason the Strikers flew to Coff's Harbour was because their was a 14 day quarantine from SA to Tasmania so no idea if that has been lifted either , based on the fact the article named Richo man to play I guess it has been.

I wonder where the 6 Englishman & Tahir are arriving then and if Malan has already arrived somewhere.

Perhaps their initial flight to Adelaide might’ve been cancelled so they had to catch a later flight to Brisbane?

I was initially surprised that they were arriving in Aus on 30 Nov when it was obvious that flight would mean they would miss the first 1-2 games due to the 14 day quarantine.

I was just thinking the same , original plan might have been to arrive in Adelaide and link up with Rashid (unable to train but a chance for Noor to chat).

Still confused by the whole OS player availability though reading that article , sounds like Klinger was looking at the option of any 3 from 5 when they are all here.

Seems very odd to me if that's the case when 2 teams still only have 3 OS players.

Guess we will know for sure when teams are announced each round.
