Meh, thats been a rule for over a decade professional cricketers have to be better than that.

Renegades will probably have to chase this down with a few overs to spare to make finals. They will likely need to get their NRR ahead of both Scorchers and Striker and then hope it is a very close game in Perth.

Wickets on offer for the heat bowlers here for sure.

So I have done the sums and the following targets apply to Renegades.

• Score 197 with 2 balls to spare and they get ahead of Scorchers NRR.
• Score 197 with 4 balls to spare and they get ahead of Strikers NRR.

It surprises me that it takes so little.

Obviously whoever wins between Scorchers and Strikers will likely improve their NRR so they will need to do better than that.
