So glad that Stoinis got a bowl. Philippe really poor.

Some great scores in my XI from Rogers, Dorff, Zampa, Warner and Renshaw but also some poor scores from Bethell, Green, Philippe and Agar.

On to next round where I feel that bringing in Sutherland is a priority along with a couple of ‘Canes.

Couldn't have asked for a much better game to end the round, Maxwell 113, new recruit Abbott with 99, new recruit Webster 59 and Edwards with a respectable 48. Was counting on Brown to play to get 11 because of having 4 canes, so very thankful that I could not only hold pace but potentially have a good rank improvement.

Warner 140(vc)
Rogers 119
Maxwell 113
Abbott 99
Zampa 87
Johnson 81
Webster 59
Allen 49
Edwards 48
Agar 24

Out: H Thornton, C Lynn and P Walter
In: M Neser, C Green and O Davies

Considered J Richardson but felt I better grab Neser with Walter out for an avenue into the Heat bowling lineup. Green for another Thunder bowler to join W Agar. Davies on the bench with the E as of thirty seconds to go. Started at M Gilkes replacing T Seifert with Bazley traded, then moved to Rutherford with the E if he pinches some overs. Then moved to Christian in the same spot for similar thinking and then ended up with Davies in the dying seconds. Kerr/Harper ready to come on field if Davies/Zampa are not to be banked.

812 with Edwards as C. Thunder inclusions did not go as planned when the likes of Richardson, etc were under consideration as alternatives. Ended up fielding Harper over Davies which I would have preferred to avoid if Walter was available or if a washout was avoided. Renegades bowlers excellent along with new recruit Neser and solid from the Sixers and Stars.

Real round of two halves. Sams injury really hurt because I elected to hedge by using all three trades on Thunder (Warner and DC were my second and third choices, so that actually worked out pretty well). Unfortunately pretty much every other alternative trade in also went well so most people will be set up a trade ahead of me for upcoming rounds and won't have lost points as a result.

Well that’s a shame. Would likely have benefitted from play today. Happy I didn’t overcommit and go for 5-6 Thunder, although 1 of them would’ve been Ferguson.

Stoinis and Edwards to come. One of these 2 will be captain. Wait for the teams to come out and see if Stoinis should get a bowl. Ideally we know beforehand if Webster is allowed to bowl or not. Even if there’s no official word maybe someone who is going to the game can see if he is bowling in the warmups? The squad for the Sri Lanka tour is supposed to get announced tomorrow so that should give a fair indication anyway.
779 Edwards

Stoinis 57
Edwards C 48x2

Stoinis great with the ball today after his first failure with the bat. Edwards did well in the bowling innings and had a great opportunity to make a quick 20 but fell for 9. Would’ve been incredibly handy. Still not happy about his dismissal. Wasn’t all that conclusive and I’m a fan of “benefit of the doubt goes to the batter”, but there’s every chance my Edwards captaincy tinted glasses were swaying me to that conclusion!

The Edwards v Stoinis captaincy choice only cost 9 points. The real jackpot would’ve been if I went through with Sutherland.

Feel like it’s an above average score. Good for the top 10/20/50/100/etc. hopes, but took a hit in the 1st overall aspirations as I see @Dravid with a mammoth 916! So I’ll be a minimum of 137 (was 66) behind 1st overall since we were tied for 5th. Well done mate! Don’t want to go the early crow but I’d assume you’d be number 1 and probably have some cushion too.

Happy with that score considering I had 5 Thunders, 3 Hurricanes and Curran MIA meant I had the bare XI playing.
Decided to take on the rain with my trades in the opening game of the round which hamstrung my team in the end but not a complete disaster.

Great to see a core group of SCS coaches at the pointy end and doing well this round. Exciting times ahead for the remaining third of the season.
